Is there any other Euro star/player who is starting to make a name for himself and is entertaining the prime of his career then decide to move to the NBA as a free agent? Most good Euro players tend to enter the NBA toward the tailend of their careers. My gut is telling me that there is a chance that Luca might be a big piece down the road. Im ready to see him as part of the great Knicks cheering squad. I think we will learn more about him as a player by the start of next year.

Last I read there were finalizing buyout. Prob needs NBA front office approval etc etc and then with weekend things slow down.

The closest I can remember us getting was Layden drafting Vujanic, who stayed in Europe.

Pablo? Frank?

Was thinking 3 days off to practice and get acclimated with team? But not a done deal yet. Very curious timing with 9 games to go. he was rumored to contemplating entering the draft? But I thought he aged out of that? Not up on those draft rules.
That he was being looked at by other teams perhaps makes him trade fodder?
If he is as good as hoped makes IQ expendable in a trade as part of a bigger one?
Its an opportunity at the worst case scenario. I can imagine we gave him a guarantee of some sort better than others and perhaps that speaks to our FO/staff confidence and a bit of risk taking without burning a pick. Future asset using THIS YEARS CAP.
LIkley not a dial mover/starphuch but the aggregate of good decisions do add up. Go Brock Aller GO!!!!!

Frank wasnt one of the best PGs in Europe at the time. Still waiting on Frank to make the case that he is a PG. Pablo was past his prime.

From what posters living in Europe have written, Luca is playing at a high level, present tense. Thats the best part. Not hearing how great he was back in the day. That day is now.

No guarantee that will translate to the NBA, but its a good sign Luca already has game.

Is there any Euro player that entered the draft and got snubbed so he sharpened his craft in the Euro league and when he just started hitting his stride and making a name for himself opted to join the NBA at the start of his prime, similar to what looks like Luca is doing now. It might be a low risk high reward type of a move.

Is there a chance by spending the offseason with Johnny Bryant and Kenny payne his game further develops and he could be the Knicks answer to the starting point guard problem? If no Lonzo or Lowrey moves are made, im thinking next year DRose will start and Luca backs him up with burks and IQ as point guard insurances.

Maybe Šarūnas Marčiulionis of the Warriors in the late 80s? He got drafted but back in the day they had like seven rounds, not just two. Got drafted in the sixth round, played in Russia for a couple of years and then came to the NBA in his mid 20s and balled out for a couple of year before getting hurt.

You can't think of any? Well, one played for the Knicks not so long ago...Jose Calderon.

Justin Harper signed another 10 day contract. What does that mean? Is there space to take in Luca? Does that mean the luca signing won't happen? Was really hoping they sign him so they can get a hard look at him over the summer to properly evaluate him.

Vildoza is Argentinian. Priggy was Argentinian as well!!!

Argentina. Not in Europe. God it gets on my nerves hearing NBA fans saying "Euro players".

Excited for this signing!!

Man I know what you mean! LOL I came to be at peace with this though just thinking - okay a Euro Player in the US perspective is a player who plays in Europe.

Jimbo coming back to your Question if there is a Euro Player in his prime with NBA Level in Europe we could snatch…
I gotta throw in my man Vladimir Lucic in there! He is a Player that brings OUTSTANDING mentality AND amazing Overall skills - he is tough, will defend briliantly multiple positions and can score if he Needs to! He is a leader and someone that would be a PERFECT player on this Knicks squad!
Will not happen - and being a HUGE Bayern supporter its fine for me but he would be magic here!

It’s the opposite in fact. Harper doing the 10 day opens roster spot.

From someone who is from Europe, of course Vildoza is from Argentina, that’s a clear thing, but as Dodger wrote, I have no problem calling someone who has been playing in Europe for the last 5 years a “euro prospect”. Nobody wants to say that he's not Argentinian.

American playing in Europe is a “Euro-Stash”.
They don’t have the competitive league in South America so we call them “Euro players”.
WE call a kid from Europe who gets drafted from “Gonzaga”, “College player”.
If a kid needs an extra vowel from an Easter European country and gets called up from the Mad Ants, we call them “Gleague Player”.

Fine for me! It took a while for me to understand this - honestly - my european prejudice on Americans being ignorant to the rest of the world also made me - pick this up back in the days! But what you say makes absolute sense to me as well.

Btw... EUROLEAGUE play this season has been OFF THE CHARTS!!! Amazing sports this year!!! If you guys have any chance in the US to watch this Competition and you love pure Basketball you DEFINATELY should try to watch it!!!!

I’m not exactly a “new” fan and I’ve even been reading this forum for years, I just haven’t registered before

+1 totally agree. Vladimir Lucic is a flat out baller period. Would definitely have an impact in nba.
