Well, perhaps he'll think about it with the Mitch injury...

My concern is that Drummond comes to NY, plays well enough to get a long term deal. Then goes back to what got him moved from his last two teams.

Wasn't this year his contract year? How much better can he play?

Think big picture. Yes we have Noel and Gibson but are on one year deals. Mitch, even if we don’t use him as trade bait this summer , clearly the guy is injury prone

A dominant rebounder like Drummond can help a bad shooting team

He can also hurt a bad shooting team due to lack of spacing and bad passing. I still say it's a no go. No need to tie up capspace just to go for a low playoff seeding.

Drummond is ****. Like what exactly is he going to do for us that we sorely need? He’s sorry.

We are a top rebounding team and I don’t need to see Drummond take 10+ shots to get that double double. And unlike our other bigs his D is suspect.

I don't know, but I can tell you who didn't. Cleveland and Detroit.

yeah, Major power powerhouse Det and Clev don’t. Your plug and play simple takes don’t obviously apply.
Detroit dumped him to Clev and Cavs subsequently not bothered and moved on.
Perhaps knicks made a play to sign him long term for a value not to his liking and that likely would include team options and a role perhaps not what he was accustomed to.
ONe can only speculate, not replicate career numbers with a coach that might not give him that opportunity.

Lakers are a better fit for him while AD and Lebron are out. However, seeing him play next to Harrell isn’t going to be pretty

Ughhhh! But Drummond will look better with Andre setting him up. They just have to chug their way to the post season.

Dieng: San Antonio
Aldridge: Nets
McGee: Nuggets
Drummond: Lakers

As for the Knicks... while he's not an ideal choice, what do you guys think about Boogie Cousins? He showed flashes of his former all-world skilled self earlier this season with the Rockets.

Why he fits:
* extremely skilled. Like all-NBA 1st team skilled. Like he could do a lot of the playmaking that Randle provides.
* Kentucky connection.
* Big beefy body that the Knicks lack

Why he doesn't:
* After years of unfortunate injuries (quad tear, ACL, achilles) - there's a big question on whether he has the north/south speed to run the floor.
* More importantly, does he have the east/west lateral mobility left for him to play the defense Thibs demands?

One more (after)thought - how about Skal Labissiere from our Westchester Knicks team? (Another Kentucky connection)

And... lastly, has the team been revisiting whether to waive Vincent Poirier?

You know....Cousins actually has a better TS% this season than Drummond. Also, was a way better passer. Not saying much, because they both turn the ball over too much. But at least DeMarcus has a positive assist to turnover ratio. He also shoots the three at close to the league average. Through him a vet minimum and see if he fits. I doubt it, but there are worse gambles.

They benched him pretty early. Has been available for more than a month. Im guessing its about effort. Getting traded to a playoff team might provide Drummond with the necessary motivation. Until he gets another big payday. Lakers want him. They're trying to win a ring.

No, they benched him because Jarret Allen is better player. Better defender, better at the rim, more range on his J. The fact that Allen is younger and cheaper didn't help Drummond's case either.
