After a timeout, Quick was talking to one of the refs, clearly working him for future calls, like a vet, Quickley has an uncanny ability to draw fouls which is what you want considering he is an elite free-throw shooter. On defense. he is always reminding his teammates behind him to talk on defense. Also, just before the half. he was talking to Mitch about what appeared to be a missed defensive assignment. This kid is the goods!!!

Yeah...in one of the earlier games I saw him looking back and talking to teammates about D...I always like to see that from a rookie.

I know that on draft night some were pointing to some other shooters we might have taken over him, but I always thought his ability to be active on D was a selling point, especially with Thibs being a defensive minded guy. I'm not sure, I might have even commented that Quickley was a Thibs pick, though his Kentucky pedigree was also a factor, probably.

He doesn't play above the rim, but he can f'n shoot the 3, and he's showed us that hesitation lane floater that looks like it will become a major feature of his game.

We might have found a hidden gem...Makes the Morris rental look like a genius move. He got a chance to look very good with the Knicks, and now we get solid player because of the trade.

Didn't know how good he would be as a lead guard or floor general. But one thing that stood out was that he averaged more FTs than Maxey at 5 a game. Which had me thinking that that's pretty damn good for a dude that was viewed as an off the ball player. Couple in that he shot 40% from 3, 92% from the line. And that had me thinking we had a advanced stat gem as a 6th man combo guard. Another poster pointed out how good he was on floaters for the season as well. Add in the wingspan and was loving the potential for 2 way player to go with the advance stat game he put up offensively.

But for him to show what he has shown as a lead guard. Put all that in a pot and IQ has the tools to develop into a very very nice player for us.
