Dont remember exactly when, years ago. A poster objected to the use of "team cancer". I had lost about half my family to cancer. Had used that expression on occasion. It had been an exprsssion in heavy use in the media, wasnt considered out of bounds to use that expression.

The selfish prick thing to say would have been "I have plenty of relatives with cancer, and Im ok with it, so who cares?". But most came to the conclusion that for some, Cancer hits closer to home, and other posters should respect that fact. Since then, the use of that expression has fallen out of favor in the media.

Tony Dungy recently was put on blast for suggesting that Prescott suffering a season ending injury was a "blessing in disguise" for Dallas.

This was not a random comment in a long diatribe. This bad joke was the topic for discussion. Ive lurked or posted here since the start. Never seen a thread like that. Never had cause to object to someone else's sense of humor in starting a thread.

I watched Dallas the other night against the Bucks—they would be decent even without Luka and there getting back Kp.
Stupid to argue about the reality we want the Mars to stink. Whatever metaphor was used — that’s the honest truth. I’m not going to say it again— just saying I hope he brakes his ankle was purely facetious way of saying O hope they stink— nothing else. I think any reasonable person could see what I was saying.

I have read Dak has the worst body odor of any player like ever. Dingy might have a point.

My posts and most of the others are not joking about someone getting hurt. They are comments on the original post which then evolved (devolved?) into Luka's weight and conditioning which is where I got called out. Finally, it is hard for me to equate breaking an ankle with dying from cancer. Just me. Anyway, this isn't why I come here, I'm just as silly as anyone else for taking a stand here whether to be PC or un-PC, and now I'm done.

Briggs, what you think is reasonable is not always as such.

Don’t let a few church lady posters get under your skin. Everyone has an agenda. Some things are just left unsaid but don’t worry about offending the masses. Mills has made us very sensitive.

Can’t tell any actor to “Break a leg”, There are no more armor wearing, so there are not Chinks in it. Cancer, Covid, Hitler, and Melo are never “funny” subject. Gotta be careful. Mention Frank and 1248 goes beatle juice and has 20 patent answers. Say Melo and Jrod will say something good.
Good thing “Mosgov Mitch” has not developed into anything yet.

If any doubt ask yourself “WWOD”?

Ok, so here are my 2 cents.

Let me tell you a little story. Last summer me and my family were returning from a vacation in Saint Petersburg. We were driving back. It's was raining and the day was gloomy. I was looking out the window onto the road and the trees in the forest and this thought visited me. It's like there are levels of thinking about our existence and how we interact.

Level 1: Take two people who are complete strangers. They are nothing to each other and there is nothing that binds them together. Same for the trees they are just growing there by themselves with no relationship with those people and there road that we are on is also just there for us to use but everything and everyone are separate in their own existence.

Level 2: The two random people definitely have something that brings them together. Maybe their eye color, maybe they both speak French, maybe they are in the same political party, maybe even very very distant relatives. The tree is also involved with someone having planted it's ancestors and the road is also very directly connected to our civilization, being a direct product. So everything and everyone are in one way or another indeed connected.

Level 3: The human body consists of human cells and microflora( foreign dna and cells) Are we just our body or are we also those microbes? The modern science and medical body of knowledge says that we are both the body and the microflora. Now let's try to apply this onto our original thought. So the two random people are really just parts of a bigger whole. They are not separate therefore and not just simply connected by their eye color either. Same for the trees and the road too. So we are all one part of something bigger. Therefore that ankle is not only Luca's. It's a part of something bigger. And the universe maybe wants Luca to have healthy ankles. Therefore our lottery position becomes an afterthought.

Ok so is it politically correct enough to only wish a high ankle sprain on Luka?

And where does the universe get it's wants? And is Luca's body fat part of something bigger?

Been long time but I’ll have to try a gummy before a road trip one day.

Where it gets the wants is a great question! I have no idea, lol

As for his body fat, yes I believe it's a part of something bigger. On the bigger scale his body fat or ankles really don't make a difference. We got Quickley with the 27th pick or something. Lottery position does not have to be the defining factor, a lot of the time it is actually not important, team pass on talent all the time.
