Got to admire Mills- persuades Dolan to fire Phil because he wants to trade KP, then ends up trading KP several months later for a worse return that what Phil was negotiating, and hails it as a victory

Yep, at the expense of the Knicks future What's the definition of insanity again?

Why does he insist on hiring people to roles they’ve never done before?!

Austin Brown..hmm, im sure a lot of folks dont know who he , neither did I, but here is a little bit on him

The start of the new NBA season is a hectic time for CAA Co-Head of Basketball AUSTIN BROWN. Between flying around the country to meet with clients like Nets G D'ANGELO RUSSELL or Jazz G DONOVAN MITCHELL and making recruiting calls to determine which top college prospects to pursue for representation in the upcoming NBA Draft, a free moment is hard to come by. When he is home in Chicago and not weary from traveling, Brown savors the quiet time that comes with his early-morning workout before the inevitable grind of the work day to come. Brown recently spoke with THE DAILY to recount the many hours of basketball he watches during the season and offer insight into the day-to-day life of an NBA player agent.

I posted the rest of the article

Basically All the players he reps (jackson jr, Donovan Mitchell, etc) are on rookie deals and won’t be unrestricted free agents for 8 years

I think you can count on one hand the amount of players that have been on the same team for more than 7 yrs..it's less than 5% of the 400+ players in the league.

The only players that stay on teams for more than 5 yrs are FRANCISE talent like lillard and curry

Long overdue but interesting timing

Or perfect timing. If he was planning or submitted some ridiculous trade scenarios. Like every young piece we have for Russell.

Ujiri might not be attainable or not yet. Myers and Pelinka are all the rage. Lakers made some big bold moves. Same with Clippers.
Mills was not getting it done on the free agent side and the feed back likely was not good. Knicks have done some good things structurally in the last 6 years but the results are not apparent.
Can't undo it but the boss made his decision and we see what comes of it. Knicks have gone bold before. Mcdyess, Marbury, Melo......all era's of boldness that were flat.
Like I said, Durant is coming next year and Dolan is in panic mode. Outcome? Fear!!!!

Mills will get thrown under the bus and we'll get some elements of truth. Perhaps Mills asked for long term security and if left to hang it makes no sense keeping him.
Question was he buying or selling?

I like Perry as a draft guy. He worked w/ Dumars, picked Gordon and Olidipo, if he's not a revolutionary mind he's at least got one and worst case can just play it by the book

this... I suspect he told Dolan the stuff he wants to do is exactly the same crap that has doomed you before.
I like Russell. He's good. He's not the guy you give up picks and prospects for. I like Morris. Not the guy you DONT get picks or prospects for.

I like Morris a lot. Especially with a good draft and if we move Randle I would give Morris 3/$45. He Bullock and Taj are the only ones that seem to be able to play NBA basketball and Taj isnt very good at it anymore.

Finally! Was concerned that Perry would be the scapegoat. Believe Dolan will give the new pres. the option of keeping him as GM. Agree the thought of Mills personally giving away the store for any player, was too much even for Dolan.

That picture sums up the Mills years. No more Mills whisper campaigns (I hope) Amazing Dolan is going to find another job for him. Mills has nothing to be angry about, lucky to get bailed out again. When the Knicks start winning again (whenever that is) hope Mills isnt brought back again. Doubt he will, believe Dolan has had enough.

Not crazy about an agent/GM. Would rather have an exec with a recent track record of succces.

Mills is out!

Ha, I never want to see this joker again after his crap last year.

Dolan should spend the next 5 months leaking that he’s going to hire this guy, hint to him that the job is his as soon as the offseason starts, tell him to quit his current job to prepare, then when the offseason starts hire his arch nemesis instead

He was the assistant. nothing in his track record sends out red flags. His body of work might have been offering better opinions than what his superiors ended up doing.
Perry might have been on record as a voice of reason and been more correct. Maybe he was against hiring Fiz and wanted Bud? Naturally he gets canned when his boss does.
That might very well happen here with Mills now gone. He still gets a recommended if he did good work. He was not here that long nor do we know the scope of his decisions.
Victim of circumstance.

This. Mills trying to survive another year at msg based on moves he made at this deadline terrifies me. I hope there is nothing to the CAA stuff.

I don't see Morris signing for less than $20 mil per year. The question is which team gives him 4 years.
I'll happily pay him 63mil/3yrs but i'm also worried someone is gonna give him 80/4yrs

Everything in moderation. Even moderation.

Thinking outloud: Fans were cheering "We want Frank". They identify with the work ethic of defense and somehow are find his youthful cool personality someone they can root for.
Not all fans. Mills might have been looking to include him in a trade. Dolan might have been; "Why would you trade a guy fans love"? Not saying we keep him for ever, but there are few things fans can cheer about. They love rooting for him. When he scores, its different than any other player. You can hear it.
I don't think Mills had it in for him because he was phil's draft pick, just maybe Mills was trying to hang on.
On the other hand, Phil wanted to trade KP.
At the same time we looking to Trade DSjr just when he starts showing the promise. is this the time to do it or perhaps lets see what he brings over the last 3rd of the season. Dennis might be 7/8's of D'russell for a fraction of the cost and a big trade chip down the road.
Or, Im out of my mind and Perry is going to trade this roster tomorrow!
Just thinking out loud.
Mills out!! Could be an interesting trade deadline?
