18 point on 18 shots and ESPN says KP puts on the show. Sounds about right

Did you expect 75% shooting? Are you saying he will be a bum this year?

Except you forgot to mention a little bit about yourself. Your a guy that hasn't done anything in 19 years. NO good looking girl wants anything to do with you. Your main man is a fat little man with a Napoleon complex who knows very little except for burgers, pizza and jazz clubs. Your out of shape, ugly and completely disfunctional. You thought you were cool a few years ago bringing out dance moves from the 90s. Only to become a laughing stock. All you like to do is brag about how good you were in the 70s. Problem is, no one gives a **** anymore.

Fact is NY, Dolan, Uncle Phil and Mills ****ed up one of the few relationships worth a damn in the last 20 years. Sure many will act like it was him not us. Probably the same that booed him draft night only to jock on the bandwagon later on. Should we keep crying about it...hell no. But lets not pretend it was caused by the kid, kids brother or injury and not by the **** show management we all know all to well. Kid will ne a beast. And another major mistake by this recent FO. Hopefully we can recover quickly from it.

really? i don’t quite get this. what exactly did the knicks ever do except kiss kp’s ass from the first day of starting him and making him the next great thing? in fact phil got his ass escorted out the second he started throwing any shade toward prince kp. i highly dispute your take. this team and this town were offered on a silver platter to kp and he and his family totally screwed the pooch and as a result can enjoy their exile to the cattle state.

You forgot the MAIN reason he wasn't interested, and that's because you were not paying attention or listing.

The TWO brothers(prior to the end of the 2017/18 season in march) told NYC and the F/O that he wanted to see improvement, he wanted to see them take winning serious, and they said fck you, were are going to lose, and were going to lose big time, we are running the show here, if you don't like it, KICK ROCKS.

If they were kissing his ass, they would have hired a more experience coach, assembled a better roster, find a way to mend relations with Melo, and build from there...

Mills is Phil without the triangle and twitter...

Have you ever seen PERRY give a press conference without steve mills..maybe once

Did you ever see steve mills (the GM) give a press conference without Phil jackson..NEVER

Then he got injured and missed 1.5 yrs. Cant demand winning if your not actively participating in winning.

All the young and veteran talent we have on this roster currently is due to discipline over the yrs. With flexibility to continue to add more or higher level talent.

But flexibility is turning into a revolving door dude, you think flipping your roster every 90 to 120 days is the path to winning..Sorry but stability is the KEY

Do you want Players seeing their name in trade rumors every other day, players playing for contracts instead of the team..

It’s NY with fans like you following it. There will always be trade rumors. That comes with the media market here. Knicks have to do what’s best for the long term health of the Knicks.

Knicks based off their discipline over the years have built one of their best collections of talent since the 54 win season. And deeper collections of talent than the Layden, Isaiah and Walsh yrs. Without having a jacked up cap or owing any future picks. Not only that but are actually owed 2 future first.

When they do start winning consistently. It will be because of these sacrifices and discipline displayed. AKA the process. The same process you whine about every step of the way.

The process started 5 yrs ago when we got KP after tanking, and we have tanked every yr since.

Hopefully that changes this yr, but you and I both know that if we are 9, 10, 11 games under 500 by JANUARY we will go into full tank mode like the last 5 seasons, trade rumors will fly, everyone loses focus, media starts pounding, trust..you have seen the movie before, part 1 through 5

We not only saw the movie, we have to sit with you in the movie theatre. Over and over saying the same thing about why you don't like the movie, and telling all around you why they bother?
That's not the point, sometimes you go to a not great movie but have a great time. Sometimes its who you go with. Sometimes its a surprise ending.
Rainman, we all want to win, but there is more to it.

If we are 10-20 for the season, you think the team should stand pat for stability sake? Or fire everyone which means start over?

First step is always DENIAL. Reason why Ewingglass's analogy is so on. So many continue to stick their heads in the sand and claim its never the Knicks dysfunctional leadership but rather everyone else sucks or is malcontent. I guess everyone that comes out and states the organization is dysfunctional is crazy. That's cool. The facts are that NO ONE has want to come here despite cap flexibility and the Knicks illustrious history. Why? Fact is we were the laughing stock of the league for the last 15 years? Why?

Look I get the whole lets **** on KP and hope he breaks a leg so we feel better about losing a franchise draft pick we could have built around, but to me, that is just childish and ignorant. Think the true Knick will always root for their team but they also realize that this will never turn itself around without the right leadership. And we have not had that in quite some time.

it's funny to me that guys are saying this stuff NOW when we're doing an actual rebuild with fiscal sanity, holding onto draft picks, bringing in good young players and resisting the star-P fools gold.

Did you ever see steve mills (the GM) give a press conference without Phil jackson..NEVER

Wow. That's out and out crazy talk.

Anyway . . .

2017 starts out with kp surrounded by vets in the starting lineup - kanter, haradaway, jack, lee. Sessions actually started the 1st 3 then jack from there on. Kp starts off with a bang. 29 and 8 on 48% 2's and 36% 3's in october, knicks are 3-3 (3-0 with jack).

By november kp's already starting his yearly tailoff pattern . 24.6 and 6 on .46 and .42 for the month. Knicks are 8-7 for the month, 11-10 overall.

December he's 22 and 7 on .41 and .32. knicks go 7-8, 18-18 on the year.

January: 20 and 7 on .42 and .46. knicks are 5-11, 23-29 overall.

Kp goes down on feb 6, knicks go 6-24 rest of way to finish 29-53

Knicks then add knox, robinson, trier, give vonleh, mudiay, hezonia a shot. Kp's out for the year. Zion's on the board. Capspace is coming up. They tell kp let's hold off on extending so we'll have +10M for free agents. I still don't understand how anyone doesn't get it that tanking and youth development were the objects for the year. Both accomplished. That's what's going to turn this franchise around - the return of kp, developing young guys, free agents, a high draft pick. Let's go.

Kp's in - until he's not. Bang - kp and janis: we're out. Trade us to one of these 4 teams or we're off to europe now and we ain't signing. Knicks - F U, enjoy texas and then get the best deal in the face of the turncoat move.

Present time - we're loaded with young promising guys, great complement of vets, draft picks to come. No bloated-contract, injured, lockerroom cancer "stars." In the face of kp's defection, couldn't have turned out better.

That's the universe i live in.

Does the Universe you live in think the Knicks organization has done a good job prior to last year? Or that they have not been dysfunctional for many years now? I keep saying things are getting better but anyone that keeps ignoring that the entire NBA, basketball community, FA players have been hinting the Knicks are a **** show, have their heads in the sand and are the the ones living in an alternate universes.

It didn't work out... regardless of our poor history with star players, it just didn't. Whether our past played a part or not - it doesn't change that we need to focus on ourselves and getting the team better. Maybe KP is a jerk or maybe he wasn't, or maybe a combination involving our FO. Either way, if we focus on KP and his future, we aren't giving our team 100% and we clearly need that. I hope the FO continues to answer questions by saying, "we wish KP the best and are focused on rebuilding the Knicks."

Spurs organization historically tries to avoid drama, usually takes the high road and is regarded as a mature and stable organization that many want to play for. The Knicks in contrast are avoided, joked about and disregarded by the great players. Maybe we need to grow up and it starts with us fans showing some maturity. I get it stings but we have a loser, cynical mentality that may have been well-deserved through the years - the FO is trying to change and present a new image - we can't stay stuck in the past/old image or change will take longer...

That's not an outlandish take. I think the Warriors, Spurs, Trailblazers, Mavs and Kings will push for those final playoff spots. Plus, KP is inury prone. I think the Mavs just want to jell and build this year. I think the playoffs should be gravy for them.

Think this is a good analogy.

Thought we were debating KP and the bad leadership in the past? I like what is going on thus far. Think we still have some time before the damage done in the last 10 years gets shaken out. Don't have any expectations that Mills and Dolan can do it though. But hoping, as always, that I get pleasantly surprised. Not as bleak or negative as Knicks1234 but definately not sticking my head in the sand as to what needs to take place before we can become great again. And IMO its the leadership that always seems to be the issue no matter how many fans want to make it about a player or two.

They are going to miss the playoffs. Barring a trade of course which is possible

You wanna bet?

Sure

With the roster they currently have constructed they don't have enough in the West.

One thing to keep in mind: Yes KP was getting tired and injured, but we also knew he was a toothpick and needed to build core strength and fitness. He not the first young player to have this issue

A good organization would have been patient, nurtured the relationship, developed his game, and realized his potential to be a top 5 player who plays on both sides of the court (no guarantees that will happen but better odds than most).

Instead we wanted an instant savior. Understandable given our history of losing and his tantalizing potential. Unfortunately these things take time. Even LBJ and Giannis needed time. Harden was a 6th man... (Shaq is probably the last to simply explode on the scene day one -- but haven't checked the stats)

Things went horribly bad and IMO both sides had some very questionable moves. KP relying on his brothers guidance, and thinking Melo was a mentor (yes the guy who both the Thunder and Rockets dumped, apparently because he is selfish, cancerous). Our FO for really mishandling the relationship, not knowing his status, taking his love of NY for granted etc., not even attempting to play a winning style of basketball, zig-zagging on team philosophy

In any event, time will tell. The end of this season or next actual performance will tell whether KP or our FO/CS is the Bozo!

That cap flexibility don't seems so bad now.

Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right. - The Tick

We have to start fresh so our expectations don't create unneeded pressure to the organization to make crazy trades and not show patience with young players. We need to ask ourselves why can other markets do it but not us? It seems all self-imposed pressure to me, but curious if others see it differently?

Maybe? Put CP3 next to Doncic? That "Maybe"? Or that a well thought out Knicks1248 thought?

Out west I go:

Rockets
Nuggs
Warriors
Jazz
Clippers
Lakers
Mavs
Pels

Blazers should be on this list.

Possibly. I see a potential for them replacing the Thunder, Spurs or Utah from last year. That is, if KP stays healthy.

I believe the main reason KP wanted out is because the Knicks did not want involvement in his sexual assault allegations. The accuser reached out to have the Knicks intervene and the knicks referred her to KP's personal representation. Around that time KP distanced himself from the team (but well before the story came out) and it became apparent that the Knicks were not going to support KP and began seeing him as more trouble than he's worth. The trust was broken on both sides, and that was the end.

KP and his brothers are..
