Break up their families cuz they are horney.
Do I care about any of this before? No. In fact, I've kept it all on the court.
Why bring it up know? Not me, its La La. IT was the push back by the players Union. It was KP sticking up for Melo.
The hypocrisy of making his way to NY to play with knicks, then coached by MDA. He wanted him gone. Now he going again to a MDA coached team. Im sure its all be agreed upon.
The Hypocrisy of "recruiting".
The Hypocrisy of "reports" (but never denied) that he wanted to stay for his son. But he go for CP3.
Nalod bought into this and was ok with Melo for the most part except his not living up to promises made.
Again, I was ok with him wanting to stay.

Must be nice to live in a world where good dads don't ever make mistakes. Air must be really rare down there in NC.

You have any issue with Mr. LookAtMyFeetStupidMothers not living up to anything near a million a month? Any "Hypocrisy" you wouldn't mind bringing up there?

The "Hypocrisy" of a player saying he wants to stay here, but realizing the remaining management wants him to go anyway.

The "Hypocrisy" of someone changing their minds based on changing circumstances, based on possibly one of the worst wastes of $70+ mil since Noah. Maybe Mills reads the UK and figured out having a bunch of Melo-less yoots who couldn't score 80 points a night if their lives depended on it was a compelling reason to get a hired shooter while looking like his own man at the same time.

The hypocrisy of "Im willing to sacrifice my game to win", but then won't stop holding the ball?
I don't share the same intensity of Sinix but when do you and fans hold Melo somewhat culpable for his lack of success here?
Im fine with a guy earning his money. I think he held up his end of the contract for the most part but he has said things and didn't hold up to it. Words have meanings.
Nothing PHil said was wrong.

I admire your loyalty to Melo. Pivoting to Noah has no relevance to this discussion. Unless of course Melo helped recruit him!!!!
Lets assume he did not. Indefensible move on Phil unless he performs up to the contract this year. I suppose until we get youtube's of him working out, he isn't.

Problem with fans like you is that you claim to know about basketball, know what's goimg on in the NBA, put down a HOF level athlete and know what it takes to win on a higher level organized team. We both know that the peak of your bball expertise is this fan forum and shooting at your local park. You seem more interested in personal attacks instead of opening your eyes and paying attention to what has been going on around here. We could have replaced Melo with Curry or Bron and you guys would still be blaming them and not the clowns on the court with them or the ones in the front office. And that includes hate filled fans that blame the stars for not enriching their lives. Last I checked that was your responsibility. Fans like you deserve what you get. Being fooled by your ignorance and the owners that dont care about anything but making money.

My firm sent me to Chicago quite often and I got to watch lots of Cub games. Talking with fans I always admired how they supported their players even though they always lost. Came to realize the guys I was sitting next to all had successful happy lives and were not as jealous as NY fans. Most claimed NY fans were uneducated, hateful cry babies who hated their lives and got what they deserved.. Always thought they were wrong.

The real problem is fans like you think you can talk down to people because they don't worship you ****ty ass stars. This makes you somehow superior in your basketball knowledge while every one reading your posts can tell that is not the case. You put your stars ahead of the team just like they put their egos ahead of the team. It's dumb starfukking fans like you and your relentless self adoration for your imaginary grasp of basketball that has enabled this atrocious culture in the NBA and continues to do so.

Once again, no one's comparing BB IQ, the OP wasn't even about basketball knowledge, it was about the "****ty ass star's" personal life, and what was or was not said or used on Bravo, TMZ, etc. Fans like you put your hate ahead of the team, ignore history, ignore facts and continue to think ****ting in your own refrigerator is somehow the key to intelligent, informed fandom. It's the NBA, genius; the league is filled with dumb, heinously overpaid starfuks, in case you haven't noticed.

You cast aspersions on your own reading abilities, because nowhere is Hofstra talking about his superior basketball knowledge. He's talking about what you think you're about, support and loyalty to the team, instead of the primacy of your own ****ty little worldview.

I support Melo because he wears the damn uniform, he came here when no one but broken down Stat and a plethora of 1 season wonders and league flotsam would bother to come here to put up with this media zoo. He was here and we went back to the playoffs. He's hit clutch shots. He's been the only draw until KP.

Spree was possibly one of the biggest aholes this franchise has ever seen, personality-wise, but he left it all out on the court. And we got our last trip to the Finals. No superior BB IQ from a fan required.

Einstein - go read my response to the OP earlier in the thread. I have zero interest in his personal life and I don't use it as a cudgel to hit him with. I am the biggest spreewell fan you will ever meet and I don't supportMelo because he never once leaves everything on the floor. He is too busy counting his stats and telling the circle jerk media whacks about his "sacrifice".

Can't by fix stupid

Okay, Mr. Genius Dedicated Fan of Rocket Surgery, when was the last time since yesterday that we got the closest to the Finals? Who was on the team then? How many chairs have you dived into for your team while all your doing is counting stats and circle jerking the media?

Keep wallowing in hate. I guess if nothing else, it will keep your blood pressure down until your personal Satan moves on.

The opposite of stupid isn't genius, though you will probably never get there. What yesterday has to do with reaching the finals in the murky recesses of your tortured brain is anybody's guess. I can't even pretend to understand WTF you are talking about.

First, I'm not tortured. I truly didn't GAF about Melo before he came here, and I won't truly GAF when and if he's gone. Unlike you, with your apparent issue with reading comprehension, I don't have a problem with simple facts like when we last went as far as the second round of the playoffs, a Knick player diving into chairs, and hitting game-winning, clutch shots at a higher clip than anyone else on the team.

But don't waste any of that precious energy you use spouting idiotic nonsense about what Melo's doing with the media while you say you only care about what he does on the court.

Glad to hear you're a Sprewell fan.

Peace.

Regarding Melo, I admire his work ethic and he does a great job keeping his body in shape and prepared in the offseason. The question is always his desire as a member of the team vs. his own agenda.
Melo is a good guy. His mouth moves and he tells us what we want to hear. He just does not fulfil those words into actions. He might be a good team mate, but a bad employee.
Spree I don't recall ever ever speaking to the media. Off season he went away and didn't always come back in time. Social media was not in full swing then so we don't have his videos of him working out, taking his buddies to Pueto Rico and being as public.
Spree was not a good employee either, he showed up with a broken hand, went missing driving cross country and would show up late to camp, but he did his job!!!
In my book there was no hypocrisy of Spree because he snarled on and off the court!!! He was true to himself. He might not have been a likable person and charming like Melo is, but you respected the effort. You go the sense there was a pride of the pack he played with on the court. Spree might choke his coach face to face, but Melo stabs his coach behind his back.

People really have selective memory when it comes to Sprewell. He had issues on the court with his shot selection, low shooting percentage and feuding with teammates (Tim Hardaway and Byron Houston if I remember correctly) prior to joining the Knicks. It wasn't just off the court. Of course he was on his best behavior when he first arrived, yet he still had expressed having issues with not being a starter when he first got here.

Spree played hard, played with passion and played defense and that's what Knick fans loved about him. But Knicks fans (not you specifically) shouldn't embellish things and act like Spree carried the Knicks to the finals. Houston, Camby, LJ, Ewing and Spree all collectively took turns making that playoff run happen.

Well, based on how you overreact to every post about Melo, it's safe to say you truly did and do GAF about him. You have a problem with simple facts like other people may not share your need to GAF about this dumbass. You also have problems with simple facts like there are fans who truly care more about the Knicks than about individual players. It's a concept you are unlikely to grasp. Then again you measure player value based on number of chairs dived into, so it's kinda hard to have a conversation with you.

I doubt I ever said, I only care about what he does on the floor, but that's not really the issue. The issue is and has always been(for me) that he thinks playing team oriented system basketball for 25 million a year is a sacrifice. And he needs to preface it by saying that it's ok if he doesn't get 25 a game. Whatever invective laced bull**** you and others spew at me, nothing is going to change those SIMPLE FACTS.

He can go to fukking Houston on wherever and I hope he doesn't let the door hit hid ass on the way out.

If I never watch him play another game as a Knick that would be five and a half years too many.

I cannot teach anybody anything. I can only try to make them think - Socrates

The guy was here posting as a Knick fan 7 years before the Melo trade. Not sure why you would accuse him of rooting for or against a certain player on the Knicks versus rooting for the team and the players on it.

Peace.

The guy was here posting as a Knick fan 7 years before the Melo trade. Not sure why you would accuse him of rooting for or against a certain player on the Knicks versus rooting for the team and the players on it.

I didn't say he wasn't. I said he puts individual players ahead of the team. You can still identify with a team while you do that and continue to think that the strs are what makes the team and you look down on role players and management and ownership, because everything else is noise distracting you from the constellation if your precious stars.
I cannot teach anybody anything. I can only try to make them think - Socrates

Melo really didn't have that much of a choice.
He didn't feel comfortable in NY anymore.
He thought Phil leaving would help I'm sure, but Phil before he left convinced the FO that trading him was the right move.

I'd bet money that if Mills, Hornachek and others had (post-Phil) met Melo and asked him to get on page with the team, he would have stayed.
I don't think we should assume that he was using his son as a card.
He probably wanted to stay and be in NY and close with his son. But the situation isn't right for him. He sees that the team wants to move on.

For sure it had become a pissing contest with Phil and him. So long as Phil was around, Melo was going to use that NTC to his advantage. Once Phil has gone, he has been much more cooperative. You don't hear buy out talk anymore. Bottom line is that I have no hard feelings towards Melo, He's a HOF player and a great scorer. He just didn't fit as the leader/man of the franchise. He is not that guy. He's great as the second guy or third guy, perhaps. I also think he is making a mistake choosing Houston. I believe the much much better fit fot him is Cleveland. It will be hard for him to get the ball with Paul/Harden. Then D'Antoni is far from his biggest fan. I can't see it work out there. Cleveland, I think he would have won a ring. Houston has all the makings of being either a great team or a huge failure. If the chemistry isn't right in Houston, it will be complete chaos with all those personalities (D'Antoni, Harden, Paul, Melo).

The Hypocrisy of Melo and fans.
