No, I do not see any evidence of Janis giving KP bad advice. KP skipping the exit meeting was a stupid thing to do, in my opinion, but I am yet to see any evidence that it was done on the advice of Janis.I read Janis's recent statement as an attempt to diffuse the situation and the concerns without also admitting wrongdoing on KP's part.
You're kidding right! You think KP just sour of the moment on his way to the meeting decided he wasn't gonna go and didn't talk to his brother??? COME ON B!!!
What I may think is irrelevant, it is only facts that matter, and the only facts we have right now are Janis's public statements, which to me sound more like damage control, so he may be playing the prudent role here. As for the sour of the moment thing, it may very well happened this way for what we know. Maybe KP was in a bad mood. Maybe the interview was scheduled for an inconvenient time which interfered with his previous plans to fly to Latvia, and he decided not to change them feeling slighted that the Knicks mgt did not take his plans into consideration. Maybe in his previous exit interview Phil did not listen to him or ignored everything he said, so he thought it would be a waste of time this time around too. There could be myriad credible theories here, but lets not confuse them with facts, which are few and far between.
Well, fact of the matter is that Janis is not qualified to be an agent given his statements about KP. He obviously doesn't understand the way contracts work in the NBA nor the ramifications of the cost of leaving a contract.
And if he's tossing televisions around, that too, is a notable fact and a clue that he's either a hothead, an alcoholic, or a 5 year old in the body of an adult.
But let's agree that he's probably trying his best at spin control. The fact is that he's awful at it. KP can afford a professional agency and needs to have his brother apprentice with them.
