Hahaha. Amen. I was going to say the same thing. Amazing how people will scapegoat the stars. Without Rose and Melo could this team even get to the second round of the NCAA tournament? This is a young team, not trying to slag the rookies. But damn. There is not a lot of NBA talent after Rose and Melo on this squad.
Without Rose and melo we'd win 15 games Maybe
Win or lose, play the game the right way. Keep playing the game the right way, and over time and effort, I fully believe good things will happen.
I'd rather see the team lose, and play actual team basketball, than win a few more games and play selfish shotjacking iso ball.
Same logical fallacy over and over, Melo and Rose are better than nothing, that same mantra over and over and over again. Teams that win don't operate with a mindset of scarcity, but a mindset of abundance. An abundance mentality is I'd rather lose right now and play the right way and get guys who will play the right way, than operate this team in fear that selfish shotjacking players are the best one has to offer. It's like staying in a bad marriage because you don't think you can do any better.
I point out again and again, Stephen Curry played the game the right way. Even when Monta Ellis was hogging the ball. Even with Don Nelson going senile. Even when the Warriors blew a ton of bad picks after drafting Curry. He stayed the course, acted as a professional and eventually, it paid off.
"We'll do what we always do. We'll do it as a team" - Captain America
"We'll lose" - Tony Stark
"Then we'll do that together too" - Captain America
That's exactly what you want, win or lose, you do it as a team, as a family, as a unit that believes and works together for the greater good.
