I don't think they're remotely similar. He's a 6'6" SG who can score and plays hard. He's had some really good games against the Knicks and plays with some fire. I think he'd be a good bench guard to have.

What does he do aside from score though? I'd take a flier on him but if it requires us to sweeten a package, I think it is an easy pass on him.

That'd be a terrible move. Reggie Jackson seems to be a cancer in lockerroom that has burned bridges in OKC and has done the same in DET. Why add that to a rebuilding team, especially when it is obvious that he aimply isn't that good?

Ditto. The better move would be to hang in the cut, wait till free agency and then sign Darren Collison on a short-term/above market contract he can't turn down. Phil Jackson reportedly had interest in him in a trade before Shumpert hurt himself.....let's go down this route instead of acquiring a well established cancer that can't shoot.

Yeah, that's a smart move. I would sign Collison. I would give him two years $20M or something. That's a better deal for us than Austin Rivers or Rubio and he's a better player.

Austin Rivers is a backup combo guard, so I don't see why he couldn't fit well with Darren Collision who had Russell Westbrook as his running mate in college. Jeff Hornancek likes two-PG offenses (see Dragic-Bledsoe), so why wouldn't Collision and Rivers play together?

Well, maybe the Melo trade happens over the summer, but it sure doesn't seem like it's happening now.

Also, the draft has a ton of great young guards and we're talking about trading for Rubio.

What solid PG are you getting to run/lead the team the next few years on a better deal than Rubio (2-years at $13.5M)?

Cap space won't be that important for us because we aren't winning a championship and Rubio would be a great 2-year PG bridge if we do come away with a young 19 year old PG in this draft.

I would say no. know everyone is desperate to move Noah, but we don't need the cap space (no FA's are coming here for a few years), and KOQ can land you a 1st rounder. I would rather keep Noah and land a 1st rounder, than essentially surrender a first rounder just to clear Noah off the books when we don't even need the cap space. You don't even clear Noah's entire salary in this deal, because you're taking back $8mil a year for Cole. So essentially you're giving up a first rounder to clear $10mil per season (which you don't need). the whole point in cap space in a rebuild is to take on salary for picks, we'd essentially be doing the opposite.

Furthermore, I think if we included Noah, they would insist we take back Dieng, who's contract is worse than Noah's.

Plus/minus is really a stupid stat to look at...It dependant on 9 other players, 3 refs and 2 coaches, plus home game/road game/back to back situations...Why not look at shooting % where one guy shoots career 45% and the other 37%...The assist you can't really compare because Rose numbers will be skewed because of how much Melo orchestrates on his own...So naturally Rose assist numbers will be at career lows...

Rubio has led a losing franchise all his career...When Melo is gone, we will become the Minny Timberwolves with a lot less speed and a lot less talent...
