I know it's a YouTube vid, but WCS does look great in it:

On reflection, I wouldn't do Rose for WCS and Rudy Gay, but I would do a trade for:

Collison (expiring $5mil and they want to move him)
McLemore (expiring $4mil)
WCS $3.5mil
Casspi ($3mil expiring and he wants to be traded)
Whoever is on $1.5mil to make up the salary difference.

Or if Afflalo s second year isn't guaranteed I'd work him in with WCS

WCS and fillers but a number one pick has to be included.

Kings are thinking about blowing it up. Not sure they'd want Rose unless they just wanted to clear cap space.

I'd like WCS but only if we moved Noah somewhere (which we won't), they have nothing else I want player wise

I wouldn't mind getting Malachi Richardson from them.

Rose is a free agent. Why the pick?
WCS for Rose (money don't work, but thats the core), is more than fair.
They can have KOQ if they want.

Rights are more important in this situation. As they can give him the most money later on that will come into play. I don't think a team is interested in Rose for his expiring more so for the right to offer him a deal.

I think WCS and Rudy Gay works. If you get WCS for Rose you take Gay and don't argue. Definitely move KOQ somewhere and start looking for an insurance escape from Noah's awful deal.

New York trades Derrick Rose to Brooklyn for Jeremy Lin and one more devious way to frustrate Carmelo into waiving his no-trade clause.

The best trade for Rose would be Jeremy Lin ....
Rubio equal Calderon with lesser defense n lesser points
Reggie Jackson would rather go to any team as long as its not the Knicks
The Denver Nuggets got the offense/defense big-men for a pass-first PG Rubio not Rose.

How is Rubio equal to Calderon but with less defense???

Melo and KP never go around or through a pick .. poor little Rubio/ like Calderon will get scored on by our opponent big-guards or big-men .. plus after the season Rubio will have 2 more years on his contract.
NO Deal!!!

Not sure what you're talking about. KP almost never has to go around picks! He's a PF/C and usually will be backing off ICE'ing the PNR. He's the backstop for the defense that helps to cover for when THE Point Guard doesn't fight over the Pick.

Hmm, I think it's starting to look like we won't be trading Rose- Kings are out a s a destination, Sixers seem to have no interest (and are looking to tank the rest of the season rather than make a playoff push now Embiid is injured), and the latest rumors are Twolves have enquired about Lee (who know what for- maybe Rubio), which would suggest they have no interest in Rose. I'm stumped to think of any other team that would have any interest in him.

That would mean we end up buying out Rose, and don't get a pick back for Lee. No doubt we then don't move Melo and end up with a stinker of a trade deadline for us.

To make things worse, Kings said they want to move Collison ($5mil expiring), so our chances of moving Jennings for anything of value takes a hit too (They have the same salary but Collison has bird rights, Jennings does not)- Collison is the more attractive option

Lee for Rubio doesn't seem to make much sense because Lee indicates try to win now (make playoffs) but trading Rubio (handing team over to Dunn/Jones) goes against win now.

I was thinking maybe Lee for Pecovic contract, T-Jones and 2018 2nd rounder.

Not a great deal unless Jones turns into a solid back-up PG.

Thibs wants some smart vets, and doesn't seem too enamoured with Rubio- I guess the plan would be Dunn at PG, Lee at SG

Do you think the Knicks keep Rose and play him off the ball with Rubio?

I think we've run out of suitors for Rose- looking at every team:

Cavs- nope
Blazers- nope
Pistons- nope (unless you want Reggie Jackson, which I do not!)
Clips- nope
Spurs- nope
Griz- nope
Raptors- nope
Warriors- nope
Wizards- nope
Magic- nope they are completely rebuilding
Hornets- nope
Heat- nope
Pelicans- nope
Bucks- nope (can't see how they would match salaries)
Hawks- nope
Bulls- nope
Kings- not now they've traded Cousins
Lakers- makes no sense next to Russell
Rockets- nope, D'Antoni would hate him
Celtics- nope
OKC- nope
Pacers- nope
Suns- nope
Jazz- nope
Nets- nope

The only possibilities are:

Sixers- maybe they'd try him out, but unlikely now they are no longer making a playoff push

Twolves- though interest in Lee would suggest otherwise

Mavs- maybe, mavs scouted us in the OKC game, there have been rumors of discussions, and they have expirings of Bogut and Deron to match salaries, maybe they add Justin Anderson or something. Very unlikely as they seem committed to rebuilding.
