It doesn't have to be a one for one. Depending on how despraate Cleveland is for scoring they can do stupid things. Lebron is making them desperate. He is at 21 million for one year then he is at 0. Again, I don't really follow all these arcane trade rules but I think Rose is closer to what they are looking for than Melo at this point.
Unfortunately the rules are in place make dealing Rose to a team like the Cavs very difficult. The Cavs might be smart to wait and see if the Knicks waive or buy out Derrick after the deadline. If Melo goes I don't think they keep Rose but they could.
Are they more difficult tHan trading Melo to the Cavs? Asking because I don't really know. But if that was something the teams can consider then they should consider a trade for Rose as well.
I am not an expert. If you go to other stuff on the tool bar, you can access a lot of information. ESPN trade machine is there, Larry Coon's cba faq is there and hoopshype's salaries for all teams. That is all that I do if I need information. In regards to moving Rose, it becomes a lot harder if they send him to a team that is contender. The Cavs have the highest payroll in the league.
