These guys have a lifestyle that they have to be able to afford and the younger ones are looking to improve their lifestyles and have enough money in the bank to pay for their lifestyles after their playing days are over. D.Williams and L.Thomas are playing their ways into much bigger contracts than they're on now. You don't think teams would love to have A DW that has crazy athleticism and brings what he brings with his driving to the basket and getting to the foul line and his rebounding has picked up lately as well?? How about L.Thomas who can guard pretty much every position and guards the best player on the other team and has improved with his offense with his shot and driving to the basket and both guys can hit free throws?? Both of them are gonna get a lot of interest from multiple teams and will be offered bigger contracts from multiple teams. If Phil's plan is to sign a max player in the off season then unless he finds a way to get rid of Calderon's contract he won't be able to sign these two along with a max player. I love lance and have been his biggest supporter since we got him last year and if i had to choose one of those two it's easily Lance for me but even though we all love what we're getting from guys like LT, DW, Gallo, AA Phil must listen to offers for all of them just to see what the offers are. I wish we could keep all of them and add a significant player in the off season but it's just not possible. I see Atlanta Hawks games bro and Teague is a sulkier. Last season when Schroder got minutes over him down the stretch, you could usually find him with a towel over his head and in a pouting mood. Yes, Schroder has made his intentions clear that he wants to be a starting PG but it hasn't interfered with his play or approach to the game. And now, it is becoming progressively clear that Schroder is the better player (when you consider contract, potential and present play). As this article articles, Teague's play, on the other hand, is stagnating: http://hoopshabit.com/2016/01/21/atlanta-hawks-jeff-teague-has-regressed-to-ordinary/ Needless to say, I think it is far more likely that the Hawks jettison Teague than Schroder. Rumors had it that he was not a favorite of Danny Ferry and only stuck around because they couldn't find an amicable trade. As much as Ferry is no longer there, I'd have to think that much of his staff is, so I wouldn't be surprised if they felt similarly. |
