Good question my man. KO is back in the doghouse and Seraphin is once again the main man:::)))

It was so simple.

Take KP out 1st, bring him back in for Lopez before the 1st Q is over (we saw KP go out, but not come back until the 2nd Q).
Bring Lopez back in with KP still out there. So one of KP/Lopez is always out there at Center. Instead he's been playing Seraphin, Amudson and O'Quinn even without a true dedication to any of those 3.

Use Melo at both 4 and 3. Instead today we saw Amudson even get minutes at 4. What the heck was that?

The backcourt is weak, so I won't really argue against any of his rotation there.

I just hate his frontcourt rotations. They minimize the impact Lopez, Porzingis, Melo and Williams will have on the game. It's our biggest strength and his constant shuffling - inserting guys like Amudson/Seraphin in, sitting Porzingis or Lopez way too long is really hurting things. I don't see his reasoning. Is he resting players? Trying to give everyone a chance? I can't say. Either way, I hate he's once again reverted back to his 11-12 man rotation. He's got to get back to playing 8-9 guys. That was working. In an offense like the Tri, and the defensive style we play (constant switching) you can not keep shuffling lineups. Guys need chemistry, cohesion and consistency.

The Fisher who runs a 9 man rotation I like. The coach who runs an 11 man rotation, I want gone next year. I just don't know why he does this again and again. He's seen the results. They're poor.

Yes, I think this is the best rotation as well. Fisher is a moron.Play KP and Rolo at center, Melo KP, and Williams at PF, Melo, Lance, and Williams at SF. Those 5 guys unless KP and Rolo get in foul trouble.

I just find his 11-12 man rotation to be his biggest weakness as a coach. It doesn't give his best players to truly make their mark on the game and it doesn't give them enough of an advantage to use their strengths. Our strengths are the ability to have size over teams and to be able to take high percentage shots over smaller players. We can use Melo, Afflalo, Lopez and even Porzingis all in the post. Now we shouldn't run a dump it in the post offense exclusively, but it should be the way the offense begins. Get the ball inside to the mismatch, then find the best quality shot through cuts and motion within the offense. Giving Lopez only 20 minutes to me was inexcusable. Taking Porzingis out at the 6 minute mark in the 1st Q, again weird move. He didn't bring him back at the 9 minute mark like he was before, he brought him back in the 2nd Q. That's too long without your best bigs. You can't rely on the 2nd unit to win you games. Outside of DWill, our 2nd unit guys are guys that are barely able to make it in the league. I like Grant and Galloway - but neither would be getting minutes for a good team. Seraphin/Amudson/Vujacic can not be played in games where we are close (like we were in the 1st half last night).

The missed free throws were all on the guys though. Totally inexcusable. A lack of focus. Make your free throws and you're up 10 in the 1st and have some breathing room. Put more pressure on CHA. Instead you miss so many, allow them to stay close, such that when they make a run, it gives them a lead. Really shot ourselves with that.

Seems mentally even Melo is just too happy/content with being a .500 type of team. If he wants the Knicks to reach another level, he can't have games like that. He didn't bring it all. Perhaps it was a sore knee, but his intensity and attitude were too laid back.

Regarding Melo, prior to his ankle injury he hit the 40 minute mark for a game twice in the season. Coming back from his injury he played 49 and 42 minutes in consecutive games. I don't think he can hold up with those type of minutes. He was showing signs that he hadn't fully recovered, grimacing when he landed after dunks etc., in both of the first two games back. It might be time to give him a rest and manage his minutes better.

So far this season, a coach who took his team to the NBA finals after his first season got fired

Another coach who took his team to the semi-finals in Houston was relieved of his duty

One who only one a few games is still employed; despite a terrible beginning and a few bizarre losses this season

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

Yup, if you've ever played basketball with a bum ankle, you know it can make it real tough to get up and down the floor, elevate. Especially with the minutes Melo has played lately. Agree with the rest of the post though.

Each situation is very unique. Houston is a mess. They have a video game type roster that doesn't account for team chemistry etc. McHale getting fired was a move to make a move in my opinion. Blatt wasn't hired to coach LBJ and that pairing never really worked. Blatt has a great resume but one of the things that I read about last summer that rubbed players the wrong way was that he wanted to be recognized as a great coach coming into a brand new situation. It wasn't going to work. The presser that the Cavs had was not classy though in my opinion.
Fisher for the most part has his guys playing for him. His team comes out much better prepared after a couple of days off or a poor game for the most part. I think he has a way to go before he is a really good coach but the team and Fish have shown improvements. I think Phil goes for stability versus dysfunction and stays with Fish unless things get really bad. I don't see things getting really bad. However, that mic'd up speech during a time out still haunts me.

How confident are you of this??

He a good dude, but he one of those guys goes on results, not process. I mean since we not accountable we could have traded RoPez low, fired Fisher and of course exiled Jose. But the process of Jose and Melo shaking the rust and others getting to know each and the system is lengthy. Not everyone gets that.

Confident? Naw, first time we lose two in a row he'll have the "feeling" and want Luke Walton here thinking he'll bring that GSW magic with him.

Lol....y'all are so silly. I am more then happy with what I have seen since after the Utah game. Fisher grew as a coach and stopped the experiments. I still have issues with Jose as a starter, mainly because I believe Gallo can do much better. But I would have never been a Fisher hater if the dude was not terrible early on. He now knows Carmelo is our best PG; which I have been stating since the start of the season. He now also knows that Williams is a studd and needs to share the floor with Carmelo and KP; as well as, getting more than the lousy 8 minutes he was getting early on.

disagree completely.
1. jose is the best starting PG on this squad right now
2. he makes the offense click
3. he has no problems being vocal
4. chemistry seems better with him on the floor
5. defense obviously is worse at his position, but do you really see Gallo being a vocal leader on the floor? the guy is a mouse when it comes to barking at Melo.

+1

For me Gallo's only plus on Jose is his defense, and I've been down on Gallo's defense recently, just doesn't seem right but I can't articulate it. Same goes for Lance.

OK, Gallo also much better rebounder.

What did happen during the Utah and Philly games? Specifically, once Gallo replaced Calderon in the back court? Suddenly our defense improved drastically. Even Clyde kept on asking to insert Gallo to stop the bleeding. Some of you are really not looking at the games as you should. Just because a dude is vocal does not mean he is better. Gallo does know the triangle. With a much better floor leader in Carmelo, Jose is obsolete

You gotta stop going by SOME games and start going by hoe they've played for the season. Gallo was the mvp of the end of the Utah game but do you know how many games he played in that he wasn't any help at all for us while on the floor?? More than can be counted. I give him the Utah game and a couple more but he really hasn't been that good this year for us. I do think he deserves more chances after the Utah game and think he should be closing out close games for us with his defense but he has a lot to prove before he gets the starting job over Jose as of now.

The shot in the corner by Gallo with Carmelo assisting would not have happened if it were Calderon in that position. Why? Because Calderon is not really a catch and shoot type of guard. It is unfortunate that it will probably take an injury to Calderon to force you guys to see how MUCH better the Knicks can be with Gallo minus calderon in the starting 5. Gallo's numbers have not looked good because he struggles with his shots. However he is doing a lot more than just shooting the ball. I don't know if you've noticed, but he has been used strictly as a SG.

My proposition is to have him on the floor as a STARTING Guard with Camelo as the Point Forward

Well first of all Fisher has already came and said that Melo will be used more as a point forward so you're proposing something that the coach has already said he's gonna do and second of all you have zero way of you proving that we'd be better will Gallo in the starting 5. We all know and have said multiple times that Gallo is an obvious better fit for defensive reasons but he just doesn't have what it takes to be a starter. The only way for us to take that next step is to upgrade at point guard and get Calderon out of the starting spot but Gallo is not that upgrade we need. Gallo is a bench player and that's all he is and all he'll most likely ever be.

Calderon is a steady pg. That being said does he make others around him better? Does he have the ability to use the dribble to break down the defense? Can he be counted on to make a good play with less than 5 seconds on the shot clock? Can he put pressure on the opposing offensive player? Yes he's steady but the answers to these questions is no.

I don't understand why you're posting this to me cause i agree and have NEVER said Calderon is a good starting point guard but i have said and still say that he's the best point guard we have and that unfortunately means until we upgrade at point guard he needs to be the starter and Gallo or Grant are NOT an upgrade. Do you agree with that???

Seraphin is certainly not better then KO. If the switch is to use a far worst player/talent, don't do it at all

I wouldn't say Seraphin is better than KOQ and i wouldn't say KOQ is better than Seraphin. They're both equally average players that don't really bring anything except for being big and can occasionally make a few shots but don't bring much at all on defense. I think both would be better as the 3rd big off the bench rather than the 2nd big off the bench. This problem along with our back court problem will be fixed by Phil as soon as he can which will most likely be in the off season unless he can find a good trade by the trade deadline. Like i've been saying.....we just need to stay patient. It stinks cause we're pretty close to taking that next step and we all would love it if we could take that next step tomorrow but Phil needs to do this the right way or instead of making our future better just one bad move/trade could hurt our future.

O'Quinn fits in the Triangle well.
He had some nice moments with the 2nd unit - early on.
Hasn't gotten much consistent PT in the last month.
He's on a 3 year deal, is 25, and should be given priority in playing time ahead of Amudson and Seraphin.

Derrick Williams has played really well so he's been given all the backup PF minutes as of late, but last night you even saw Amudson at PF and Seraphin at C. These guys won't likely be with the team next year.

From a development standpoint, Fish should be playing O'Quinn/Williams/Galloway/Grant over Seraphin/Amudson/Vujacic. That's not to say I have anything against the latter 3, I like them especially as teammates. But guys like O'Quinn can improve and be with the Knicks next year while the others will go to the highest bidder or likely won't be back. We got to develop the longterm here. O'Quinn fits in with Porzingis, or Lopez. He fits in a small ball lineup with DWill as well. He's a keeper. Seraphin and Amudson are not guys worth giving playing time to at this point unless it's a blow out.

This would be my rotation:

Lopez/Porzingis/O'Quinn (No need to give O'Quinn any PT unless Porzingis is in foul trouble)
Porzingis/Williams/Melo (You slide Melo to 4 when Thomas is playing really well)
Melo/Thomas/Afflalo (Afflalo comes up to 3 when Galloway is playing well or when Thomas is unavailable)
Afflalo/Galloway (Trust Galloway to be your main backup 2)
Calderon/Grant/Galloway (Gallo slides to 1 if Grant is stinking up the place, but Grant has shown he can play in spurts).

With the Thomas injury, you slide Afflalo to 3, you play Gallo at 2 more and you trust the rotation that was working. Instead we've seen Fisher bring in Sasha, use Amudson and Seraphin. He's not giving guys enough rhythm.

There's no question Phil Jackson needs to give Fisher another guard or wing player that ease the reliance on Afflalo, and allow Galloway to be a backup 1, so he doesn't have to rely on Grant or Sasha for big minutes. I do understand the roster's limitations. I do not think Fisher gives enough consistent rhythm to some of his front court guys. Too much time on the pine for Lopez or Porzingis even when they play well. He's got a big advantage with his front court, and can't be giving teams chances with sitting Lopez, Porzingis, Anthony all at the same time, which he often does do. This deep into the season without a major injury and to still be playing 11th/12th men types is really weird for a NBA head coach.
