FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

would you still rather have towns?

Yes!
Hahahahahahahahahahaha

KP is closing the gap there. BY the end of this season those who'd swap now might be singin a different tune.

Thing is...you wouldn't. Not even if Towns is Rookie of the Year.

KP's ceiling is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much higher than Towns. Towns projects to a really good starter, maybe even an all star. KP....man, we're talking if he fulfills his vast potential, Jabbar and Wilt territory.

This is a once in a lifetime talent we're seeing growing and developing before our very eyes.

this post is silly. i love kp and am extremely happy he's playing so well, so quickly. but to try and pump him up by ****ting on towns who is already averaging 15pts/10rebs/2blks is stupid. towns ceiling is just as high as kp's.

It isn't though. Not ****ting on Towns, his ceiling is lower. Use your eyes. One is 6'10 and one is 7'3 and still growing.

Just stating the obvious. Towns doesn't have the range nor the quickness and length of KP. Towns has a more polished post game at the moment, but KP is already displaying the "Dream Shake" and "Dirk Fallaway" which are more advanced offensive moves.

Just open your eyes man. It's not silly at all, just use your eyeballs.

I've been a Towns fan for ever....Especially during the Towns vs OK4 debate.

But KP and Towns are in different categories. KP is a 7'3 small forward......moves and shoots like a small forward with power forward post moves and center like block and rim protection. KP is the new type of big man......Towns is the old school big man.

I think there's plenty of room at the top for both players. No need to compare the two. They both bring slightly different skill sets. Towns looks so stiff compared to other 6'10 guys....You would think he's 7'3 and KP was 6'10......But I think both will be at the top of the league, next to Anthony Davis and KD, as far as the NBA bigs of the future. I'm just happy we got one of the future greats, at the very beginning. And he wants to be here for his entire career. Gotta luv that!

This. I've been thinking the same for a little while now. Excellent description of KP

Exact words phils scout said when he hopped on the phone and told phil, you miss this guy, you'll regret it for the rest of your life..

I have never seen a guy his size play with so much fluidity and had such smooth "allan houston" type jumper. He moves without the ball, cutting to the basket, finding space for mid range shots, put backs, rebounding, running, the upside is tremendous.

That's a good question. KAT is playing very well himself and plays the center position and does all the things well that KP does well and does it from the 5 spot.

i know you want everybody to praise phil like a god BUT even phil didnt expect him to be this good this quickly. In fact he said it would probably take 2 years. I give phil credit for drafting him BUT i give porzingis credit for evolving much sooner than expected

Even i knew he would produce in his first year and i can go back and find the posts that i said it in if i really wanted to so i think Phil knew that KP would produce in year one. Now of course he didn't think he would produce like he did last night nor did i but Phil is a very smart man and he deserves the credit for drafting KP with the 4th pick for sure.

My comments were mostly about how Phil rebuilt the team and on top of that he gets FULL CREDIT for taking the player with the most upside when it was a risky thing and he KNEW he would get killed for taking KP! Don't tell me Phil doesn't deserve FULL CREDIT.

i agree your boy phil did a good job but its very early to build a statue for him quite yet. Porzingis was the best player available at that point so mosts GMs would pick him

Not true and you have no facts to back that up. I would put money on the fact that Winslow and Mudiay would of been picked over him by some GM's and i'm sure there's a few other players that some GM's would of taken over KP as well with the 4th pick. You really need to get over the Phil hate and admit to what a good job he has done with this roster.

To take my shot at the dead horse - Lin was a FA this summer. Still could have had it.

Chuck is just high of KP's career night but it's only one game whereas Towns was doing this from day one but he was further along in his game as well as physically. KP is getting there at a rate we could never have dreamt of! Yea that's like saying You would take Dirk over KG/Duncan. Both Towns and KP have been top notch. Moreso Towns at this stage but it's certainly reasonable to think that Minnesota got the player they needed to pair up with Wiggins to form a special kobe/Wade & SHAQ like tandem for years to come. As for the Knicks they couldn't have found a better player to compliment Melo. KP fills a lot of the holes this team had. Calderon's inability to stay in front of his man and KP being quick and long enough to cover for him to name one. It's a great time to be a Knick fan! Sucks to be a Net fan now that the Knicks finally have a franchise player! Imagine the level of jealous they are feeling in their current state with no picks and no light at the end of the tunnel in site. We've been there and it isn't fun! Knicks are finally turning the corner and building a sustainable winner the right way with youth. Not the usual starphuching for declining and injury riddled former stars

I agree. Both should be great players. Have to recognize Towns is one of the best young big men to come around in a long time. He will be a top 5 player in the league someday. But KP will hopefully be in the same category as well.

I agree with this. Towns is special. KP is special. Mudiay and Russell and Okafor can all be special.

The 2015 draft feels like one of those drafts where the league gets a bunch of great players all at once, like the 1996 draft or the 2003 draft. Obviously time will tell, but Towns being great doesn't mean KP can't also be great.

Exactly!

Gross, just gross. He'll never admit he's wrong about Phil and constantly harps on 17 wins.

News flash, without last year there is no KP and Grant. There's no Por-Zin-Gis chants on a .500 team on the rise.

That azzhole sure is entertaining though!

17 wins and $60mil. He acts like Phil should already have us contending for a championship. He is a disgusting human being. Always moving the goal posts back. Next up is his back tracking when we do make the playoffs. FUCK HIM AND his baseless boycott. He didn't boycott the past 15yrs of complete ineptitude under layden, Isiah, Dantoni & Woodson but now he is going to boycott someone with 11 muther****in rings? What a phonY GTFO SAS!!

Was watching the game and huge storm knocked out power all over Washington state. At least I saw some of it. Glad Porzingis put on a show before all those Knicks legends.

what made it a thing of beauty was there was nothing really new. He just stayed on the floor longer, and some of those shots that look good but just havent been falling all went in. He took whatever the defense gave him and just feasted on his. Open 3s, crashing the glass for putbacks, quick moves on cuts, knocking down Js from passes from Melo's double teams, post moves, a dream shake... just awesome.

Still can't believe he's a Knick. Charles Barkley said on Mike and Mike that KP is the leading candidate for ROY. Talk about unbelievable.

The most exciting thing about Kp for me is that when he is a finished product in his prime he will be an unguardable Center. Once he gets his grown man strength and body to go with his skill set its going to be a beautiful thing.

could be, but to me the thing that really tantalizes is him at the 4. His versatility on both sides of the ball lets you play him there and next to another 7 footer. Could you imagine a frontcourt with KP and Marc Gasol? Or Drummond? Or Jordan? Not to compare to Duncan but part of what made the Spurs such a nightmare was playing Timmy at the 4. Or Ben Wallace in his prime... ooohhh that would be sick. Guy like Noah in his prime, or maybe Hasson Whiteside... you can field some crazy lineups.
