And Marbury never got to play with guys like Amare and Tyson. He was forced to play with guys like Curry, Crawford Tim Thomas & Francis. And now Melo has KP who might eventually be better than all those guys.

Would Melo fair as well playing next to Keith Van Horn, Mutumbo and Doleac as Marbury did until Isiah blew that's team up for Tim Thomas & Nazr?

As others have said, you better believe Phil and Derek are trying to finally get through to him. He will either be better for it or it's going to be sayonara Melo to Washington, Charlotte or Chicago.

It's a stupid argument..You can't be a contender without all stars on your roster...When you come up against 5 hall of fame players on the Spurs roster and then lose, later start a thread saying you can't win with Melo, it's a bit misleading..Silly to be honest...Knicks are not built to compete at the next level..Spurs are honing their skills for the playoffs, toying with us as ATL was...Spurs weren't playing hard at all..Aldridge didn't play the entire second quarter..

I personally want to see Melo traded..I'm a big fan of the game..I want to see if he has what it takes to compete at the next level..I want to see that of all top players in this league..I wanted to see it here but that won't happen given our off season..The Clippers had big time trouble last year because their "stars" couldn't take the next step..Curry took the next step in the playoffs and it was great to see him grow as a player...You saw both instances plain as day..That's what this is all about..Ain't about getting your favorite player in Uni..I want to see competitive ball...I could care less who is in Uni as long as we win..

I don't believe that statement for a bit. Knicks had the game down to 4 or 5 points in the 4th. And Leonard and Duncan played 36, 35 minutes respectively and that is way more than their averages, especially considering the back-to-back. Aldridge played 32. Perhaps the Knicks were beating down the doors more than they would like, but this was a game.

When you say it's a game is when there is a back and forth with lead changes like against Washington..Most of the second half we were trailing 10 points more or less except the late 3rd/early 4th where we worked it to 5 pts..Pop brought back Leonard, Parker and Aldridge and stretched the lead back to 10..

Most Knicks didn't get to play with Amare and Tyson didn't play a lot in the spring.

then don't defend him taking the money over an opportunity to win. u come across as a hypocrite.

My desires also embraces reality..Its a business and no one will leave 60 mil on the table, not even David West.. A few years back, the catcher for KC Royals signed a long term deal with his club for about 1 mil a year for about 10 year..I think it gets bumped up to 5 mil per in the 7th or 8th year, club option ..He is a stud..He was naive to sign that deal new to the country and without an agent..U think KC will do the right thing and pay the kid his true value knowing they took advantage of him? ..Do you now think highly of him knowing his employer is pocketing the money he has help them earned reaching back to back World Series?

Guess it's a good analogy. I voted for Obama in 08, same as I supported Melo in '11. Didn't vote at all in '12 due all the candidates sucking including Obama. Without going into politics, things changed for the worst overall. Now are you going to stick by the bad president/bad player, or look to turn a new leaf KP6/KOQ/Galloway-Grant?

Yea it's a pretty damn perfect analogy. I too voted Obama in 08 with high hopes of a better country. Never would I have imagine that we'd be going backwards.

i thought it was agreed that you're not allowed to compare baseball to basketball. besides, the kid won and he is happy and is a hero and is universally loved. does he have fu money? no, but almost. is he a made man? yes. is melo? no.

alex rodriguez is 700 times richer and miserable.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

I would bet the exact opposite. Liberals are those uninformed Melo fans who can't think for themselves and are infatuated with points per game and the agenda driven media

And for those attacking Fox News. I really hope that doesn't mean you are getting your news from CNN & NBC. Then again it would explain everything you need to know

statistics are just stupid to many here though that attitude seems to be slowly changing as the new school of thought seems to be taking over.

2 years ago, nobody really cared about TS and WS48 and alike and now they seem to be making its way in the mainstream even on this board.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

This thread sucks by the way. "Some of you are terrible fans" Coming from a poster who is a pretty terrible poster and then the usual suspects chime in in agreement.
