is it fair to judge him just on last year?

he had an achilles injury and he's old. Are you expecting him to return to his prime?

No but I am expecting him to return and be the efficient player that he is. Not this broken player that was playing in a horribly broken system/players.

Jose did have some good games last year and I have to think that the injuries had a lot to do with the down performance overall in addition to the roster issues we had. He's the kind of player that does better when he's in a stable situation and can play to his strengths.

so who do you have a negative feeling about?

Weird question. Better way to say it is that I have varying expectations for each player. Not every player has the ability to be an impact player. Of the guys at the top of the rotation, we should expect more from them. I'm hoping they produce at a solid level for the full season. If they play at their expected levels it should be a competitive team. We really will need for the younger guys to step up. The better they are the chances of that playoff spot grow as well.

Most teams win based mostly on the production of their top 6-7 rotation guys. Unfortunately we have several guys coming back off injury last year and looking to have a bounce back season. That's not good, but it's reality.
