If you know anything about successful teams, you would care.

You of all people, by the way, should realize the importance of leadership. Anthony does his job as a leader and maybe JR is still around...who knows.

I've been coaching HS sports for over 25 years, and the ONLY good teams I've ever had are the ones with a leadership component that deals with issues a coach can't control all the time.

This doesn't make any sense, your suppose to be part of the recruitment of FA, and your bashing your own team and prez.

Melo can't be that stupid

This is a disaster and will be a gift from SAS and Isola they will never give up. Carmelo should've kept it close to the vest--hes 31 years old--he's old enough to understand that he not only hurt the team the fans and the OWNER of the team with decisively negative comments against the people who are trying to help him win. He is a player and while he can be consulted--he is NOT in charge of personnel. He went over a boundary and there will be no spinning this from MSG and its all his fault.

The only way this goes away is a trade at the appropriate time for a price reasonably comparable to what we paid out. The Celtics have the goods we need in terms of guards and draft picks

Aw jeez. Maybe the Knicks could find Melo a david Wingate type that is only there to sit by Melo and hang out with him. Tim was brutal last year and getting the 19th pick for him was one of Phil's finest moments.

I am not one who wanted to give up on a young talented dude like THJ, but given that we acquired a much better talent for him, I won't complain. I hope he does better in his new environment.

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

Carmelo Anthony feels “completely hoodwinked and betrayed by Phil Jackson’’ after the Knicks traded Tim Hardaway Jr. and selected European project Kristaps Porzingis with the fourth pick of the draft, according to a radio report by ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith.

The report cited sources close to Anthony, who is currently in Las Vegas for his wife La La’s birthday.

“All they said was he’s furious, he’s livid, he feels completely hoodwinked and betrayed by Phil Jackson,’’ Smith said. “He feels like he was lied to and sold a bill of goods. He’s willing to concede he wanted his money, but he didn’t know it would be like this and this bad. He can’t believe the second season for Phil Jackson he has to look forward to being worse than last season was.”

I don't know what if anything Melo said. And he didn't say it publicly. I don't trust leaked information. But a reporter, however agenda driven cannot get away just making **** up. If it's completely untrue Melo or his agent would have denied it.

I just don't have any issue with him not liking the pick. To me is not relevant.

Sources said the most tension exists between Anthony and Hardaway, as they haven't cared for each other almost since Hardaway joined the team last season, with each player believing the other shoots too much and doesn't care about defense. Sources said Hardaway was also bothered by the favorable treatment Anthony received under last season's coach, Mike Woodson.

I hope he does, too. Should be interesting to see how he fits into a Spurs type offense where he will have to do a little more moving around. I think they see him as a possible Korver replacement, but he'll have to do a better job on D.

Atlanta is also a pretty nice city, perhaps the NYC of the South.

In the context of the phone call that's hilarious. I had no idea.

So you know that Melo have the phone numbers of all potential draftees..Just in case he needs to make that call to the players drafted by the Knicks...A call can't wait a few days once things are settled, and he can get in touch with the appropriate staffers that have their numbers..These calls need to be made immediately to appease message board participants..So they can determine proper leadership qualities..

he's gonna recruit free agents?

but when people are reporting he hates the direction of the team he does nothing to make it clear that he is juiced about our two draft picks?

not reaching out to kristaps on day 1... that is fkn shameful.

even marbury woulda had the common sense and decency to do that.

dude, as if the knicks can't give him the kids phone number? it takes one text to phil or the pr team asking for it. you are the franchize player, and we just had our highest pick in two decades, and you don't put in the minimal effort to send a welcome message that takes 30 seconds.

it's not about appeasing the message board, it's about making the kid feel welcome. Kristaps is a critical piece now, and the dude got booed like crazy by the idiot fans. show some freakin leadership melo. my god.

not to mention it gets out all day that he doesn't want the kid here... you put the clamp down on that sht real quick if you care about the knicks and not yourself only. that kinda reporting does damage to the free agent efforts, the integration of kristaps, its just so toxic.
