If they could do that trade with Charlotte to get Batum and pick 9, I'd be interested in that. I think Batum would be an Odom type for the Knicks and a perfect complement to Melo. Pick 9 you go after WCS, Kaminsky, Lyles, Looney, maybe Cameron Payne.
I like Mudiay, I do not think he is far apart from Russell in terms of "potential and value"
Russell getting hyped up from Curry but would rather try to get Tyler Harvey in the mid/later 2nd rounder as I do agree that there is a BUST POTENTIAL in him with his premodnna arrogance while lacking physical abilities outside of size/length, mix that in with us likely being horrible with him/media critisism and needing to cater to CA, party life/maturity issues with Russell in NYC, I rather not
While Mudiay changed the perception the team had on him
I actually think Mudiay is a bit safer and higher potential than Russell because he could likely defend at a high level and has good work ethic and this talk about Russell being the better PG while Mudiay is by far the closer PG with a LEGIT NBA body and that doubts will only make him work harder
His team mates didn't like him when he went there and they ALL changed the perception of him and vouched for him, which is very hard to do for a player and stuck with it in China, not trying to take over the game but was a willing passer and looking to create for team mates not take over and create stats for himself
So he is a bit more mature and went through some tough times in China
Do to the short schedule and not complaining on the bench, he stuck with it, and I give him props for that vs a premodnna
Yes, you heard it first, I prefer Mudiay than Russell
Problem is the I think he will also need to go through growing pains in order to develop but I think he will get there...
Who do you prefer?
Grant or Payne?
While Delon Wright is a BIG PG that PHil Jackson generally likes, though we do not have a Kobe/Jordan/Shaq/Gasol
I wouldn't mind that deal for Battum and swap though I do not know for sure, if he just had a bad year or if it was fully his wrist injury that he IS NOT doing surgery for...
He had a HORRIBLE year and he is the X factor with Wesley Matthews for the POrtland Squad
Giannes and Battum both resemble Scotty Pippen and maybe Magic Johnson to me, outside of Lebron James, after that only DEFENSIVE F's such as Jae Crowder/Aminu and Wesley Johnson *not sure what these guys would cost with the rise of the cap next year* which have less upside but could be availalble
Then there are Wesley Matthews, Danny Green, DeMaRRe Carroll, probably about 12m
