watching this just makes it clear we got to send Hardaway away from NY. I don't want to see his "let me win games when they don't count" face on the roster next year.

It doesnt matter what we did.....its up to the lottery machine. We ended up as the second worst team...that was the best position to get the 1st pick...based on history. So we put ourselves in the best position to get 1 or 2.....but like everthing the knicks touch since Dolan took over....nothing goes in our favor.....knick fans should be used to this already.

Did you actually see a machine spitting the numbers out? I believe we got screwed by the commissioner. Because, Phil decided to challenge him when he first took over.

Ah, now I see why some people think you're playa2 under a new username...

2nd worst was absolutely the worst place to be. I said it before the lottery and got labeled a battered negative Knick fan. I said I would've rather been 3rd or 4th worst because history the 3rd/4th worse pick higher than the 2nd worst. All this could've been avoided had we finished what we started by finishing last. But the Knicks can't even tank right so the outcome served them well. They absolutely deserve the 4th pick. They absolutely do not deserve a franchise changing talent. As a matter of fact Dolan brought a sexual predator back into his organization. He deserves all the bad karma that will continue to come his way

People aren't understanding how odd work- the previous draft lotteries had no relevance on the outcome of this draft lottery- the machine does not remember previous results and think "Ah, f*** it, I think I'll shake things up a bit this year!"

You know that this is not how the laws of chance work, even if it might seem that way.

We did not even get pick 3 after they drew a Minny ball again.

Suckz big time, but chance is chance.

This is exactly what would have happened. Knicks with #1 and Minny with #4.

What? Are you serious? The odds are the odds. Past results don't affect future results. This is the Gamblers Fallacy. The BEST ODDS TO LAND THE TOP PICK go to the team with the worst record. Just because the past lottery results have been skewed towards teams that didnt have the worse record means absolutely nothing. I feel like a broken record with this the amount of times Ive posted it. Aberrations can happen over small sample sizes.

Yes, I do. Assuming the lottery isnt rigged or something. The team with the worst record won the lottery and the team with the second worst fell to 4. The teams who were 1st and 2nd are irrelevant.

I'm not sure that means we'd switch all lottery balls. The first place team has 250 balls and second place team 199. So it may be the case that Minn would have kept 199 of the 250 balls they had anyway. Or it might not work that way. The NBA is pretty unclear about how this works IMO.

According to this Zach Lowe article that we switched lottery balls with Minnesota after those last two wins. Here's the quote:

The NBA doles out the combinations in numerical order, and when the machine spat out a “1” first, Brad Ruiter, the Wolves’ rep in the drawing room, knew he was in business. Of the 1,001 four-number combinations, 286 included the number “1.” Minnesota had 250 of those; the Knicks had the rest.

It makes sense. It's a lot easier to have a standard set of numbers depending on what position a team finishes than it is to randomly assign numbers year in and year out.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Its pretty simple with me--Id do anything to get this guy. Three number 1 picks and our 4--I dont care. Send Carmelo to LA for number 2 and give Minnesota 2 and 4. Thats Karl Towns and then 40mm in cap space.
RIP Crushalot😞
