Some of you cares not about total package and smarts; all you care about is a stupid dude that can jump and dunk without a jump shot.

Give me: Russell, towns, Winslow, Lyles, and this draft will be a complete success

Well the good thing about that is nobody on here will be making the pick and if Mudiay ends up being the pick it will be made by people who know much much more about the kid than you or anyone on here does and those people also know much much more about basketball than you or anyone on here so we will see what the big wigs do in less than a mobth.

Thanks to our dumb coach, we are in this situation. Had we ended up with one of the top three picks, we would be in a totally different position. When I mentioned that fact at the end of the season, newyork4ever blasted me; because he claimed that winning those two games will not be as detrimental as predicted.

Hahahahaha I'm glad to see you're over it and I'm sorry that you're having soooooooo much trouble with it still but maybe by this time next year you'll be able to let go?? Just sayin.

I will never get over it. Tanking all year to earn just the fourth pick in the draft? To miss a great opportunity to draft a megastar? I will never forget it.

than why do you blame Fisher? He did the right thing... he played THjr who sucked all year, and suddenly hit every shot. Serious stop with this stupid ****. There is nothing to talk about. There is nothing to speculate about it. Keep posting about it over and over again is like changing a toddler's poopy diaper over and over again. Nothing was blown. Its a lottery. Could have still ended up picking #4 even if we didnt win those games. There is a 36% chance the worst team picks 4th. Thats more than a third. Posting it over and over again shows a lack of intellegence and ability to bring anything to the table besides your poopy pants. Go clean up

Hahahahaha very well said and funny. I love funny.

Let's hope for the best. I just don't want to see a Mudiay pick. If Russell, towns, or even Okafor are not on the board, trade the pick for a chance to draft Winslow and Stein, or Lyles and Kaminsky
Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

Why are you so upset about the complaining the fans do? Fans will complain when the past 15 years have been really bad and the results for the first 14 months of the new president have been worse than anyone anticipated.

Fans will complain if we would of made the playoffs every year for the last 15 years and we got Gasol and LMA in free agency and Towns in the draft. There's people on here and every message board that will find things to complain about no matter the situation and that's annoying as all hell.

Im older than you and remember a great time for Knick fans where we had good basketball from Y-Y. Yes there was years that there was heart breaking ends or this or that. But there was a pride with basketball here. I was a ticket holder from the time I was 23 years old. EVERYTHING in this franchise went to he ll the DAY Jim Dolan took over and it was pretty quick. This team has just been toxic for 15 years because of this man. Its unfair that one single Napoleon like idiot ran this great franchise into the ground. Why he hasnt left is beyond me. Ive seen Dolan up pretty close and he is one short MFer he looks like George Costanza size with hair. And from what I hear he acts like Mr Constanza--easy to blow up. It would be nice to go back to the day where we didnt even know who the F owned the team. We had good management and good players with a good culture. We didnt have scum bags like isiah Thomas or diva players. We had tough players who played good basketball. 15 years of losing is a long time with only 1 pretty good year 3 years ago so excuse fans for being prised off at this shtty fcking team.

Thank God I went to Uconn.

Ummmmm ok. I agree with all of this but just don't understand what it had to do with anything I've posted?? How old am I since you for some odd reason seem to know???

My guess is you just turned 31.

Well I guess you gave up then Briggs and not that it matters but I just turned 45 in April and I've been a Knicks fan as far as I can remember. I know I disagree with some of your posts/threads but I do think you bring a lot to the table and you do do your homework when it comes to these draft prospects or anything Knicks but just cause I disagree with certain stuff you say doesn't mean I don't respect your knowledge or at least some of it anyway LOL.

I can live with that but we need to be careful to not trade out of the top 10 or we might screw ourselves from drafting any of those players. I gotta say that after doing a little homework that Lyles has grown on my some and wouldn't mind him playing the 4 for us as long as we draft him with a trade down and not at 4 and we get either a nice veteran or more picks in the trade. A 2016 1st would be nice.

I agree. For once, we need to draft talented/two-way players who have an attitude. I am sick of the one trick ponies. We are the Knicks

His 3pt % was higher than Russell's.

Maybe the player we draft ends up being better than the players you have in mind that will be megastars. It's too soon to tell. There is no clear-cut Lebron/Anthony Davis-can't miss #1 pick here. There are 4 or 5 guys all within the same tier. Towns is obviously number one, but the gap between 1 and 4 isn't significant in this draft. Maybe this a draft like 2008 and 2009 where guys are drafted later who end up being as good as the #1 guy.

You've missed the point. Obtaining one of the top three picks would have given us a lot more leverage. Specifically, given previous regimes have decided to trade all of our picks for the next couple of years. The first pick could have net us a guy like Cousin and two draft picks.

what do your buddies think of ATL this last year? Did you get to any games?

My big question about Winslow - can he legitimately play NBA SG? IF he can, he might be the best player on the board at 4. If he's too slow and not quick enough laterally to guard opposing SG, our starting lineup may potentially include guys at SG (Winslow), SF (Melo) and PF (Monroe) who are too slow to cover the guys at their own positions.

Some of you guys say defense is a thing guys can learn - I really think it comes down to quickness, strength, feel for the game and desire. Some of those things you can work on, some are just innate traits - I don't think many guys can really "improve" their quickness or explosiveness, not to the level that some athletes are just born with. Winslow is explosive. Is he quick on D? It was hard to tell given where Duke had him on the floor, for me, at least. (Not to repeat myself again and again, but this is why I like Stein - he has cat-like quickness you cannot teach. his ability to cover the pick and roll and patrol the middle and close out on shooters... I feel like he could improve our points allowed by 10ppg all by himself...)

I do like Winslow a lot - I just don't know whether he's a true SG or more of a "wing" 3 or something. I think he's going to be quite good though. As I've said, I could see him being a star for a team like the Spurs, which is a high compliment in my mind.

You don't need a star at the PG spot in the triangle and if we brought in a couple starters down low and our top pick was ends up being Winslow or WCS or any other position besides PG then I think the combo of Calderon, Gallo and Shved could run the point for us just fine.

Yep, the triangle means we don't need to invest a lot of money in the PG spot- Ron Harper, Fisher calibre players are all you need (which is why I keep banging on about Beverley).

You can't know what people would do if something that never happened had occurred.

Doesn't stop you from saying we would be better off if we hadn't re-signed Melo

Playa2, He is doing private work outs for teams.
You can't have towns. He'll be gone.

Briggs, the last few years the worst team did not get the top pick. At the very least we should have stayed at the 2. Can't blame winning two games on that.

If we had lost more a few more games or won a few more games we would have had a better pick- such is the power of the Knicks curse

I like Winslow a lot myself. He just knows how to win. He makes the kind of plays that need to be made and has that knack for being in the right place at the right time and making the right play at the right time. He's the ultimate Robin to any star player. He can play in the gaps and also step up and take charge when needed. He could be a Pippen like player. I think he's a pretty safe pick as well. What you see is what you get. I could understand the Knicks taking him at #4.

With WCS I think there could be some hidden upside with his offensive game. If he actually can develop his offense that makes him a totally different player. With his elite defense at 7' he would be a different player if he could actually be functional as a post player and mid range jumper. The fact that he's looking smooth in that area is a great sign. He's improved his FT shooting every year so far so it's not far fetched.

Yeah, the narrative that Stein hasn't improved is BS. His % has gone up every year. What hasn't gone up every year is his minutes because Kentucky is constantly auditioning top of the lotto talent. Last year they had ten top recruits. Stein had a role at Kentucky, yes, he was made to be secondary to Noel, Randle, Towns - I think he can do more at the NBA level. If he has a reliable mid-range jumper, he will be just fine on offense in the Triangle. Also, if you at Lyles highlights - almost all of his highlights are set up by something Stein did on the floor to free him up or get him the ball. I think Stein will eventually be a 12ppg scorer in the NBA. Which isn't fantastic, but he'll be doing a whole hell of a lot of other things out there.

If we had lost those games, everything would have changed in the lead up to the lottery, and then butterfly effect would mean that the actual lottery would not have had exactly the same outcome- the person who switches on the machine, brings the balls, hits the switch, whatever- if they were a fraction of a second different the outcome would be altered.

SI.com has also changed theres but has:

1. Twolves- OK4
2. Lakers- Towns (annoying)
3. Sixers- Mudiay
4. Knicks- Russell (almost makes up for the hurt of missing out on Towns, and falling to 4th)

The top 3 is still uncertain (which team goes for which player), however now Skiles is Magic coach, I guarantee they will pick Winslow with the 5th if we don't take him.

Todays NBA and the future of the league seems to be moving away from the traditional position by position basketball. Now its all about finding mismatches, and fielding a team where at least 4 of your 5 starters can put the ball on the floor and space the floor. We have seen line ups in GS where Barnes, Iggy, Thompson and Green were all on the floor at the same time and they are all very similar in size. Same with Atl....with that said, Winslow and Cauley-Stein are the most intriguing picks at 4.

Winslow is a 2 way player who can shoot, defend, rebound and finish on the break. He is that intangible player that every good team needs. Only question is can he put the ball on the floor in the half court. Stein is intriguing because he can disrupt the number play in the game, the PNR. Also, he is the tim protector you need in todays game and i suspect he is a better offensive player than he has shown.

If we were playing for a playoff spot like the Nets, I would have had no problem with the positioning. I am bothered by the fact that we looks like pure garbage all season and decided to win the last two games. The only thing that will console me is if we end up with Russell or if we trade the fourth pick to get WCS AND Winslow.
