They are taking some of his shots away and forcing him to pass, what would you like him to do?

I think that I know your answer but just do not agree with it at all. You want him to jack em up as often as possible and hope to win the war of attrition.

If he doesn't take more shots they will lose...No one else has the capability to do that on his team..What's the important thing here? his TS% or winning the game and moving on??..

maybe now we hit the core.

I don't think that he should take bad shots with the (TERRIBLE) excuse of "who else should shoot"

pass the ball to the open man, don't take stupid shots, other guys will have to step up. If they do, like last night, then great. If they don't then they may lose.

I think that him going 10 for 30 (like Melo did against indiana) is not acceptable and will hurt the rockets far more than help them.

Hit the open man and play basketball.

Most people don't believe they have the talent to go in there tomorrow and win ... I predict a loss and don't have confidence that the supporting cast will step up like they did last night .... but lets see

Look at Bron, he has gone 10-30 and 13-29 in wins and has taken 22 shots in a loss...Are you really going to say but his TS%???

so based on those numbers you inferred that they won because Lebron took more shots? Using this logic, you would get crushed on the LSAT

those were bad games (scoring wise). at least he still passes the ball (6.5 assists per) and gets a crap load of boards. He can still affect the game when he is missing which is what superstars should do.

In one of the losses he had 14 assists and in one of the wins he had 5 assists. Does that mean that he should not be passing the ball?

and ... Lebron is so far from what he was.

10-30 is never acceptable.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

It not a robotic thing..U don't plan to go out and shoot 10-30..In the flow of the game, you can't always take the three instead of the 21 footer...You take the shot the defense allows you to take...It goes with the ebb and flow of the game..If your team need you to score to win then you have to maintain your aggressiveness...You can't look at the numbers, its about the situation..That's why stats isn't the end all and be all..You don't win on paper...

so you feel that he is passing up open shots?

If you are just missing good quality shots then that happens and its ok if it does not happen too often. If you are taking terrible low percentage shots, that is never ok.

Should Harden be more aggressive and try to get more shots? Maybe but that will only happen if his teammates are hitting some shots. If they are not, then no defense is stupid enough to allow Harden to shoot.

Last game, they helped him out and it opened things up.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Don't kid yourself, last game was about what the Clippers didn't do more than what Harden and Houston did...

Looks like Clippers and Warriors. I can see the Clippers keeping it close and making it ugly but my money is on the Warriors. The Clippers are a great team but, assuming GS stays healthy, they are the second best team this year. I know the playoffs are a different beast but GS dominated the Clippers during the regular season this year (3-1, IIRC) and in those games, GS made various adjustments that the Clippers couldn't deal with time after time. In the same way that Conley is the best neutralizer for Curry, Curry is the best guard against Paul. I suspect GS will let Griffin play his game to some extent and try to take everyone else out of their games.

Warriors are deeper, have better defenders and have more two way talent, so I expect them to win, but I'm going to stop counting out the Clips because I've done that all season and they've proved me wrong every time.

The east is a crap shoot though- no idea who the heck is going to make the finals.
