Last month Oka4 was Timmy hoisting up a chip. Now he is Univerity of Pacific Olwakandi? Stein is not Tyson?
We typecast and talk each other into it.
Oka4 is 19 years old and has a skill set at his age we just don't see very often. In college he got double and triple teamed. What happened? He did not have some great games. Then what happened? His team won a a national championship. We lose sight of that? Dude became a decoy and when it opened it up he did great. If he can pass it out and identify when his lanes are shut (something Stat never was asked to do until later)he'll be great. Stein is a curious player. That team was just so stacked one has to wonder how good he really is.

winslow projects to be a leonard/butler/george type which would be great and is the next-best two-way player after towns... and a core player. and kaminsky is going to be a good fit in the triangle as a small forward or power forward though probably not a core player. maybe not an all-star but close. he could end up being a good sixth man. and i would give winslow a couple of years to develop... i have high hopes for him.

i am a big fan of stein but it would not be a good fit here for him. i don't mind the non-shooting but it is not clear that he will be a good enough passer as a pro, though i'd love to be proven wrong because if he developed passing skills he would become something special.

Do you cut and paste your posts? Your last paragraph is identical to your previous post.

i was trying to have a dialogue with jerzeyjackoff but it was clearly a dead end. so yeah i cut and pasted. maybe you can do better than he did. maybe not.

So you cut and paste your posts. Too funny.

what do you care? if you don't want to have a dialogue then just stfu, k?

Well that escalated fast!

when you bring nothing else to the table you work with what you got. Clearly TFK's mom did NOT serve DK's favorite cookies last night. He's testy. Best not to poke the bear

how cluelessly ironic LOL

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

I think Okafor is Phil's number one choice. Think of the Triangle fit.

please... look logically. This is a Briggs the sky is falling thread. Its OK4. A passing bigman who scores at 65%? The dude holds the ball like a QB waiting for a WR (guard) to get open when he's doubled. Or he just beats you. Phil also knows he can build an offense around OK4/Melo very quickly. Fill the roster with Galloway, Demarre Carrol, Thanasis, LAnce Thomas, types.. guys who will hit the 3 and play down and dirty defense. His Rodmans.

Im pretty sure that's Phil's plan A right now. You cant convince me otherwise. He didn't need to go to all those KY practices to scout Stein. Think about it.

Yep. Agree with this. Also, Phil supposedly spoke to Melo in January and talked him out of wanting a trade and all that and gave him a vision. A few days later Melo goes to watch Okafor in person and praises his game.

Phil keeps his cards close to his chest, Melo not as much.

I think OK4 is Phil's top choice and he's sold Melo on it.

Of course, we have to see how the draft plays out. Maybe they get pick three and we draft D'Angelo Russell or Mudiay and they chase LaMarcus Aldridge in FA.

To say that Phil has a plan set in stone right now is crazy. No one does until the lottery is set and even then, it's a series of preferences and read and reacts. I think Phil's preference right now is absolutely Okafor - he's the franchise center you can build a team around and structure the Triangle offense around. Towns is probably 1A. We still need guards who can pass and get to the rim - Mudiay and Russell are probably options 2 and 3 in an order we aren't gonna know about and Phil probably won't know for sure until workouts.

We get the fifth pick? We all cry and look for trade options. Or maybe Briggs gets his worst fear - WCS.

Exactly. WCS at five is pretty terrible considering a 17 win season. I remember the Bulls drafted Marcus Fizer after a season like that. That would be terrible. Better off reaching for upside at that point than settling for a servicable role player

I saw some Okafor games/plays and the main problem I see is not in his skills but attitude. He is a big guy that sometimes on defense looks like he is afraid of contact. I know he is young yet if he is afraid of college guys it will be worse in NBA. He is also not built to play 4 as he often doesn't follow his opponents and in modern NBA with many stretch players at 4 he and Melo would be a defense disaster. I would go with Towns as my first choice and then Russel. I like Russel and would use him to play sg and pair him with a good backcourt defender. Then move Melo to play 4 get Carroll to play 3 and get some good defensive minded 5 - Koufos, R. Lopez, Asik, Ajinca and get a better bench ;)
