if Vince Carter is getting traded- I could see him being traded for Paul Pierce-

but, Vince has no leverage to force a trade and his contract is reasonable, especially when you consider the fannies he puts in the seats.

Now- perhaps a three way deal- Pierce to toronto, and Vince & Raef LaFrentz to NY- what do the Knicks send up?

Danny is on crack so you never know

Frank Williams, Michael Sweetney, and Allan Houston?

that might work.

The team that did not make the playoffs that year was a pathetic group of loosers that reflected Houston's personality and game. Overpaid, one dimensonal, soft, low bball IQ, no respect for the fans, lazy, no ups, no heart, year, Houstons sure lead us to the lottery in a much better way then Carter led his team. And don't even try to say that the Raptors were in the lottery too, Carter was injured the past two seasons for the most part.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

No chance in hell do I give up Sweets, Frank and Allan for Vince.

And no offense, but some of you guys are idiots. No heart? Low bball IQ? Not clutch? No respect for the fans? Sheesh. You guys just don't think.

Your nick on this forum is Allanfan. I am sure you are opposed to my thinking Houston is a bad player and I am ready to debate that but before I go any further, rank the list of the following SG's:

Kobe, McGrady, Allen Iverson, Ray Allen, Michael Redd, Lebron, Vince Carter, Sprewell, Jason Richardson, Rip Hamilton, Finely and Allan Houston.

This way I will know whether it is even logical to debate this issue with you any further.

I like that.....it's illogical!

Throw in Crawford, Cuttino, Eddie Jones, Stephen Jackson, Paul Pierce, and a few other young guys that might step up....

Houston is at the bottom of the barrell. Houston does have a good jumpshot "providing he gets proper lift".

look, silver, the debate is'nt allan of today. i agreed that allan's best days are behind him and we need a replacement whether it is vince carter or crawford. but to bring up a list now is pointless. we do not know what condition allan is of right now. if it was last season then yes allan should be off the list. i was debating on you saying allan has ALWAYS been terrible which is a ridiculous statement. as far as labeling him soft, just becuase he does'nt yell and in his teammates face does'nt mean he is soft. the HUGE difference between allan and vc is that allan can play through pain. he played through two playoff series with a severe sprain ankle because his team needed him. if that was vince, he would be out for two seasons. answer me this, silver. if we had allan instead of starks in game seven of the 94 championship game, would he have shot as terrible or would we be rocking a banner in msg? hmmmmmm!

You'd also get Raef LaFrentz with that deal

jazz74: The point is Allan of today!!!!! Are you trying to live in the past? If you agree his best days are behind him then there is nothing to argue about!! And of course we would have won that game if Allan replaces starks in Game 6.

But Allan was always 1-dimensional. He never rebounded or passed or played defense. He was a better fit playing with Ewing but he has been a terrible fit since 2001. Time to replace him. I am not saying he is a terrible player. He is better than Lee Nailon and plenty of other players. He is better than Voshon Lenard. He is 1-dimensional and needs to be replaced.

I wasn't bringing up the list for you. I brought it up for Allanfan20. I even mentioned his name in the first line!

I'm going to keep this on track: Allan Houston is 1-dimensional. Allan Houston refuses to change himself so he can have more than 1-dimension. I don't like Allan Houston for those reasons!!

Silverfeul, Allan Houston is my favorite player and will always be that, until the day he retires. I have defended him for years. Yet, I am also a very knowledgable fan, and I know my basketball. And I would sure know a heck of a lot more if I had cable TV. I KNOW my stuff. I don't need to prove that by posting all the time. I also know the weaknesses of Allan Houston, and I know his strengths.

I am also not a little byatch, like you may think I am. As a result, I am not going to rank the SGs, just so you can evaluate my bball IQ, so you can have a discussion with me. That is plain silly. As a matter of fact, I am not going to even respond to any of your posts anymore, b/c that showed YOUR immaturity and that you are probably 12 years old.

okay, i will leave it at that. we both agree that houston needs to be replaced with so many question marks concerning his health and ability. and i am glad you said he is not terrible. just as long as we agree on that.

So you resort to personal attacks and call me immature instead? There is absolutely no maturity in that. So I will stay on the mature side!

B.T.W: You favorite player needs to be replaced because he is a liability for my favorite team.

I wouldn't hesitate to start Jamal Crawford at SG if he wanted starters minutes when he came here and ask Houston to simply be a nice scoring threat off the bench for around 26 mpg. That's probably the best role for him. If Houston has a full recovery and is the player he was in 2002-3 (unlikely), then he probably is a top 15 SG.
