Ha, well, I kind of feel bad for them though. They clearly don't understand very simple concepts and keep rubbing more egg on their face and I really meant it when I wish they would stop for their own sake.

But, I think it has been good for the forum for people to stand up for key principles. I do have a new level of respect for a whole bunch of you since so many rose above cheap moral reasoning. So that is an unexpected benefit of this ill-conceived thread. It gave the forum a bigger soul IMO and that's pretty cool.

Looks like Eny created this post thinking he had the support of the masses but now that some well respected posters backed Splat and stated their opposing opinions it will hopefully discourage those other posters from bringing vitriol. When you log in and 95% of your posts are centered on attacking other posters because their opinions differ from yours and you try being the forum police because you misinterpret the general feelings of the room. Which according to this post, is that most people here enjoy engaging in discussions about the Knicks whether they agree or not. Now hopefully they see that censoring opinions is not ok and open discussion is encouraged.

I value the opinions of this forum way more than that of the agenda ridden media, some called basketball experts and casual fans. It takes real diehard fans to not only watch most of the games whether the team is good or bad. To engage in discussions apart from the games, try to gain more knowledge of the team and the league than the average nba fan because we are so passionate.
