That's a very interesting point regarding the cost of players. However, if you were Nostradamus and could say after 2-3 seasons a Towns or a Russell were more impactful players overall, would you still take Okafor if he was only a 20 point a game guy and not a lot else?

Yes you may. It is your prerogative to do so as define in the fan's portion of the CBA. You may even withhold judgment of the current roster and finally come out and say the Knicks suck at any future date as you deem appropriate.

Draft Towns (trade down a spot if land #1 and someone in top 3-4 wants Okafor badly)
Sign G.Green $7-9 mill (backup option try to get KJ McDaniels)
Sign J.Lin $5 mill (backup option keep Calderon for next year)
Resign Bargs to 1yr at $4 mill
Resign Aldrich, Acy or Wear for minimum deals
Check for one more dead-eye shooter at low cost deal

Towns/Aldrich
Bargs/Acy/
Melo/Early
Green/Hardaway Jr
Lin/Calderon/Galloway

Would still have some flexibility... and decent cap space for 2016 (pending Calderon and Bargs status)
