There is trust building among the entire roster. I'm not really worried about Melo at this point in time. Once we can add a few more quality players to the roster i'm confident that the ball will move and that includes Melo. We need to keep adding more selfless players to the mix and it becomes contagious.
Why are you so confident that Melo will move the ball? Because you think that Phil after enough dinners will get to him?
When I see it I'll believe it.
Well, What I like about the game you guys mentioned above was that when he came back into the game in the 4th quarter he did not continue to jack up shots to "get his" instead he pass the ball around. I don't think he even attempted a shot attempt. You have to start somewhere.
PS.
another thing I like is that lately in the 4th qtr when the game is close they do not force it into Melo. They actually allow him to post up and since teams over play the knicks have went away from Melo and found the open man.
Guys are making shots, and are moving the ball a lot more. It is a beautiful thing
you don't move the ball because you guys are making shots
you make shots because you are moving the ball
the ball needs to move regardless ... NO EXCUSES
hit the open man
Scorers don't believe in that theory. See Jordan, Kobe, Reggie Miller, etc.
Jordan and Kobe were much better passers then he is (and kobe is still a chucker)
no idea where you are going with this.
And, if you are one of the most efficient scorers of all time, shoot all day long.
you are still making lots of excuses instead of admitting that this is a problem. Think Phil is not trying to address this problem? ITS A DAMN PROBLEM.
Melo needs to get his assists above 4.5(ish) with a TS of 57-58.
He can easily do that if he cuts out the sh1t shots.
so here is what phil is thinking ....
