I think this picture summarises the season:

But hopefully some good will come of it!

We should have tanked for Yao and we should have tanked for Lebron. Winning 35 games and getting mid round picks did nothing for this franchise but lock it into 15 years of mediocrity (minus a few bright spots like one 54 win season and a few weeks of Linsanity). For me, us being awful in a year where we actually have a pick and there are multiple awesome prospects makes me happy. We weren't going to make it out of the first round anyway so would you rather get a real shot at Oakafor/Townes or get a 1st round exit and a mid round pick?

I believe Phil was right going in with the belief that he needed to change the culture from day one while trying to field a competitive squad. When it was clear that this wasn't going to happen this season, Jackson started clearing out contracts, bad apples (JR), and going for a full rebuild.

I like the fact that Phil responded to the facts on the ground instead of stubbornly clinging to the delusion that this team had a shot at the playoffs and staying the course. In seasons past our GM would make a hail mary trade, taking on a seriously overpaid, aging vet, with too many years left on his deal, to try and make the playoffs this season. Phil didn't do that, thank God.

You know some fans are absolutely clueless when they say the only thing Derek Fisher knows is losing.

As far as I am concerned he gets a free pass. This squad is atrocious and we needed to lose in order to get better. He is doing what needs to be done and learning. If we get a real squad and he can't cut it then it's time to talk.

At least, for now, things are looking up in terms of patience.

what?? you guys are living on fantasy island if you believe fisher will be a decent coach next season. 5 wins out of 40 games, worst record in knick history, even MDA who went through more trades with his roster and taught defense like it was a complete option, was an absolute better option.

Why you guys continue to give him a pass is beyond my wildest imagination

I don't understand- why is Jason Kidd a better coach this season than last season? Why was Jason Kidd a better coach in the second half of last season than he was in the first half? Do you understand the concept of learning and improvement, or did you start your job at your peak and never get better at it?

We're basically playing our summer league team vs the nba- how many games do you honestly think a roster of: Tim Jr, Calderon, Jason Smith, Cole, Larkin, Prigs, Acy and co should win? Honestly?

The article about Kenyon Martin was an excellent case in point about Phil's total regime culture change rebuild. Didn't even want to sniff at trying to recreate the 54-win season 'formula'. We shall see. Like we have a choice anyway.

Just please don't say tank.
