It was because of the flagrant 2. No play on the ball, intent to harm. he didnt throw a punch, if he did it would have been worse.

Similar to when JR clocked Jason Terry's nuts.

It stinks Acy has to miss his return to Sacramento. He was well liked there.

yea they suspended him 1 game cos the flagrant 2. He was throwing a punch but i guess he stopped himself. I'm surprised they didn't bang him for the intent though.

Acy was furious after the altercation, with multiple Wizards needed to separate him from Wall. Meanwhile, the surrounding Knicks on the court stood idly and watched, with Carmelo Anthony the first teammate to approach Acy — roughly 15 seconds after Wall pushed Acy.

Good ! for Acy taking hard foul back at Superstar of Wiz
I dont mind it I like that crap sometimes

Rest of knicks too tooooooo soft for the DJ
If the fighting is only thing Knicks show maybe we'll win a game 1 day in future
they've gotta do something eh ? Regular butt kickings by elite (Wiz) and lowly NBA teams regularly

When the soft Derek Fisher going to get his 1st NBA technical foul ?
his style is getting played I admire him for all he's shown in terms of trying to keep mess together
But he also is lost on space, needs to get himself thrown outta games instead of ACY
You'd think right ?

I love that he cares enough but his teammates need to protect him. We don't need opposing teams trying to calm down our players. We don't need guys fighting but at least jump in there and get your guy. Show that you care even if acy is wrong get in there and get a hold acy and calm your bro down.

So anyone buying this explanation considering what Wizard players did

“You can’t do that now,” said Anthony, who tried to calm Acy down in the aftermath of the incident. “Guys on the bench can’t do that, they can’t move. I saw our coaches holding them back. I saw the guys on the court, anytime you’re running to a large group of people, something can happen. I wasn’t going to allow myself to run up to a group of people in the circle and now something happens to me, now I’ve got to worry about what I might do or what I’m capable of doing. I’d rather just get Quincy out of there and walk away from it while they’re trying to figure out what’s going on.”

Is Melo saying he would have decked Nene

Would he have put Humphries in the figure four leg-lock

Nope judging by his comments his concern was for ME lo

Not about Acy being potentially gooned by 4 Wizards

I can't get on Melo's case for this anymore than Cole's.

Melo had a bad suspension once in his career already. That punch he threw could have turned out far worse than it did. People die from punches like that.

So, yeah, Melo should be careful considering his past.

I don't think this is the leadership issue you're making it out to be unless you think acting like tough guys is a substitute for team ball.

I can fault Melo for lack of leadership, but this is not a good case for asserting that charge.

Furthermore, Acy was already being restrained. More players jumping into what was already a crowded circle of people would helped nothing.

It turned out as good as it could have been expected to considering how hot Acy looked.

This is being blown totally out of proportion.

The team chemistry issues do not get worked out based on who jumps into a fight.

I've got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell!

His explanation doesn't fit the concern for teammate

His history of scuffle is 7-8yrs removed, his reputation doesn't suit he's a brawler

And keep in mind he was asked why players didn't get involved

Not why he didn't get involved and yes Cole is culpable considering he was on the court

And is 7'0" 300lbs, what you don't do is answer the question

And reveal you are overly concerned about your well being

To be honest he shouldn't have been asked this question alone

Cole was the closest knick to the skirmish. He turned his back and walked away. Melo didn't get into the fray but did walk towards his teammate and eventually was the guy to calm him down. Not a good look for Melo but Cole comes out looking worse in my opinion.

Melo's explanation weak as ever

To my knowledge Acy was suspended 1 gm and Wall got a 15k fine

But Nene, Humphries, Beal, and Butler

Broke up the fight with no punishment so yes you can do that

Oh BTW 2 of the Wizards probably have more a rap sheet than you Melo

2yrs Ago

Last Year's Playoffs

In each scuffle saw players from both

Sides trying to break up fight
