Sorry, but you said nothing in this post. You say he is a leader and the proof is because ............ you say he is a leader. Even some of his supporters are reasonable enough to concede the reality Melo is anything but a leader. Just because you want to believe he is doesn't make him one.

Let's see if I can drive my point home. Carmelo is looked upon to lead a team in scoring; that In a nutshell makes him a leader. He may not be the quintessential leader you are accustomed of seeing, but he is one and is being paid as such.

Leading in a statistical category is how you drive the point home that he is a leader?

That is like saying hammerhead sharks are excellent carpenters because of the word "hammer".

At least apply basic logic if you are going to try and back up your assertions.

Hey, that is a specialty. Not too many can do what he can. He has been relied upon for many years to carry the scoring load. That, in my "esteem" opinion, makes him a leader.

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

knicks1969, perhaps you can define what your idea of leadership is, currently i dont follow your logic.

my defs quick
vocal leader -- will openly yell if need be, or at least openly discuss what to do/not do with teammates.
silent leader -- intensity in action. will inspire teammates through actions/effort.

some guys mix up both aspects of my definitions. anthony doesnt appear to follow either of those. however other folks can define these terms as they see it differently. leading the team in scoring or being relied on to score is not leadership to me. is that inspiring his mates to do something outside of stand around and watch as has been the case in the past? is it making them play with better effort on d? is it making sure guys follow what the coaches want?

GO TEAM VENTURE!!!!!

I like your explanation. Maybe with the guidance of Phil and fisher he will manifest a lot more of the noted qualities.

I am curious to see what Carmelo's approach will be tonight. I want to see if he will continue to be Melo or the Beast. Melo is very passive and plays cool with no sense of urgency. The Beast on the other hand uses all of the tricks in the world to get buckets and collects 8 to 10 rebounds. The beast attacks the basket and shoot about 8-10 freethrows a game; while Melo does the contrary; he settles for jumpers when his shooting percentage is at 30.

We have few NBA players on the active roster. It is completely unfair to attack the guy. Hard to attack the basket without any perimeter threats. Teams are playing way off most our players making it almost impossible to get to the basket.

He needs to set the tone for others to follow. Now that we have THJ in the starting lineup, it gives us one guy who is more than capable of remedying the perimeter woes. Penetrate and kick the ball out to the perimeter.

I sure as hell hope not. Phil will correct part of his weaknesses. For the first Ike of his career he has someone that he sure as hell respect. What can he say other then Listen to Phil? Not much. A reminder of Michael, Kobe, Pippen, and Shaquille is all that is needed to pursuance Carmelo.

I believe Melo will continue to improve in the triangle. Others need to commit as well. Players on the roster unfortunately can't seem to remember what to do. Not the brightest bunch. Multiple people out of position almost every time down the floor. It has been a collective mess. There were at least a handful of shots I remember where somebody just dumped the ball to Melo with under 5 sec left on the clock resulting in a bad shot. This happens every game and needs to be rectified.

Totally agree THJ needs to be that guy. Prigs and Shump need to take and make some of the shots on the kickout on occasion for defenses to respect it.

This was a much better game by Carmelo. He was not necessarily a beast, but he showed up to play. He was very active at both ends of the court, but too bad we lost. Our team definitely lacks talent. I think Fisher is to blame for tonight's loss

Is it me or does Carmelo look out of shape? This dude supposedly lost weight so he can put up with the rigorous season, but he appears to be a step slow/energy less on the court at times. I know he has not have too much support from his team mates, but I think Fisher has been managing his minutes beautifully.

Melo has to be the guy who eats pints of Haagen-Daaz to console himself after losses. Him and Lala roll around in a tub of nachos and cheese. He's an eater. It's pretty obvious.

and this i my favorite... fully zooted too.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%
