how did Amare do tonight?

He actualy battled on the boards but he was horrible with the ball....against the hornets he was lucky like I said because he was stumbling and bumbling. Against Washington he looked bad often. he forced everything just about. still stumbling and bumbling

This thread makes me smile in one respect and what to puke in another. M

It's nothing personal, 'Stat' seems like a decent guy, a good human being who uses his celebrity to the betterment of orhers. I applaude that and wish more highly (overpaid) people copied his example.

Moving on to his contribution to the New York Knicks organization : utterly abysmal bordering on embarrassing. Approximately $400k a week, FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND a f**king week. Are you kidding me?? He's absolute garbage. Seriously. I don't know the game as well as many on this forum but I know sport and I know value. I repeat FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND a f**king week. It's insane. I have grown to love the Knicks. My background understands and respects the drought and the pain but please get real. This team does nothing ever with such charlatans on the roster. He is a fraud.

LOL..he had 12 boards, held Nene and gortat to 6 points, had a couple of assist(more than any big man on the wizards) and only took 7 shots, he also had 2 steals...And that's atrocious.

I guess since he couldn't stop all 5 wizards on the floor at one time, he was atrocious. I'll let Enyspree tell me that those 12 rebounds just fell in amares hand for the 2 game in a row, and none of the wizards bigs had more than 7 boards.

You guys just make stuff up as you go along

Yes, we make it all up. We're totally inventing the portrayal of him as a terrible defender, an even worse help defender and as someone who generally has moronic court awareness about anything that doesn't involve the ball in his immediate hands. Sure, we're making up the depiction of him as generally clueless on offense other than taking his own shots.

We're blind and living in a fantasy world.

Meanwhile, the truthtellers say he got boards. Bravo! He did something. At least he can chase after the ball like an eager beaver. Earn your keep so to speak. That's plenty. He's a keeper!

great post. He's been bad because he's fraud. Not because he's been hurt. He just sits around collecting the money the Knicks offered him.

Hey magicTs... in your opinion what could have Amare have done differently to better help the Knicks?

I expect something as constructive as "he shouldnt have signed" but feel free to let us know... Im curious.

I can answer that for him.

Develop an effective and above league average three point shot.

I didnt read past that. He's got good range on his jumper. A guy who scores at 55% around the basket and you want him shooting 3's?

Sorry dude fail.

The problems have never been with his game. Yes there are holes, but while he was healthy was one of the best frontcourt scorers in the league. Period. He got hurt and hasnt been a factor for the Knicks. You can either appreciate his efforts to get back on the court in whatever capacity he has left, or you can hate him because the Knicks first and only big FA signing since Allan Houston has been a flop.

But being pissed because he didnt learn to shoot 3s is some of the dumbest **** Ive ever read on the this forum, and thats saying a lot these days.

I car retort for him. In addition to Amare learning to shoot 3's at an elite level, this is also how the universe should be run:

1) Melo needed to stay in college for 4 years, spend whatever mortgage money his parents had and most of Boeheim's TV kickbacks going to Kevin Johnson's little man camp every summer, and come into the league as Magic Johnson 2 with a better jumpshot.

2) Stephon Marbury should have taken the whole Christian thing absolutely seriously, had all his tats removed, sworn off the vaseline and become the best PG in the history of the league. He would have been averaging a quadruple double for several seasons.

3) IT should have never become an NBA executive or coach, and should instead had invested himself entirely in his family, and living a quiet life promoting grade school volleyball programs.

4) Dolan would have realized at the onset that he had no business running a basketball franchise, and should have instead sold his interests in the Knicks to a venture capital group headed by Mark Cuban's mother-in-law.

5) Sprewell should have taken the 14 mil and fed all his kids. And their moms. He should have sold the boat.

6) Eddie Curry ... nevermind.

pretty soon it will be, amare is not consistent with his half court shots, dude no matter what he does, these 4 or 5 haters will find something.
The game against the wizards showed 50 yr old andre miller abusing our guards with veteran savy plays, getting into the paint and kicking out to wide open 3 pointers..but lets blame amare because he couldn't guard andre miller, or garret temple.

Lets totally look away from how amare was snatching boards away from Nene and gortat..no lets focus on how amare let miller light up the knicks, forget melos 6 TO's and 30% shooting.

Actually, it was 7 TO's. I think I'm channeling tkf...

Hey, Melo stunk it up, but Stat also was reverting back to last year's iso dribbling of his feet act again. So there.
He did have a nice pass in the 4th to Melo, though.

We need a YouTubeStat thread!

Give Amare props
