Things are changing with Knicks. I wonder what his take will be this year?

he's a bonafide knicks hater though... so he ends up being wrong predicting specifics about the knicks.

Replacing Woodson is alone worth 5 wins. Add to that a better PG and I think 45 is realistic. I am not saying that Dalembert is as good as a healthy and motivated Chandler but he is OK on the D and gets rebounds. Chandler is a NULL offensively. Sammy can shoot from 10-15.

If Stat and Bargs can give any semblance of production between the 2 of them, the Knicks will be OK.

I like the system and I like the leadership qualities of Fisher and Pjax.

Yeah it's not just one thing but the cumulative effects of all the changes. Phil, Fish, Jose, the bigs are a bit deeper this year with Cole, Jason n Dalembert. The young guys have more upside n energy IMO. Larkin, Early, Acy, Cole, Shump n THJ are the 25 n under crew. Should be able to give some needed energy in practice and some games.

That Schedule does look tough but I think pretty much every team is gonna have a similar level of difficulty as the league is going thru a progression where some teams that were young and bad are developing into solid competition. This cycle is gonna see more parity and some lower win totals for a lot of teams as the league is more competitive. IMO the Knicks should be deep enough to deal with this kind of grueling schedule. Not to mention the new System will put pressure on teams to defend the Knicks. We often made it easier on teams cuz the could do a lot of standing around on defense against us. Now they're gonna have to all be moving a lot more for 48 minutes. This isn't going to be a fun team to defend with lots of ball and player movement.

I think 42-45 wins is the most realistic scenerio. This year is just a stepping stone until we can bring more talent next summer

That must mean there are many tremendously easy stretches where we're playing almost NBDL teams. No team in the east should be complaining about schedules.

To be honest we don't really know how much talent we already do have!1! How can we know that with the kind of dysfunction we witnessed last year? Dolan messing around with the Head Coach and making poor decisions. Woody himself being lost and out of sorts.
Players not having full confidence or respect for the situation. I think 1st ting is to have in place a leadership team that demands respect and puts everyone in position to succeed. Then you can gauge just how much talent you really have. You want players to be able to perform at peak efficiency and with high levels of execution. We didn't see any of that last year.

Think about the embarrassing losses and mistakes by players and the coach. That wasn't a well run machine. I'm convinced that this team can play at a much higher level than we saw last year and when they do we'll find that this team is much better than some expect it to be. Lets get this team playing with great teamwork and execution and who knows how good they can be. IMO this team has a very high upside based on the skills of the players we have. If they're all playing well it's a very potent group of players. This is the job of Phil and Fish with this roster.

the secret to success in terms of leadership is not playing favorites, even with 124 million dollar price tag.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Miami and Indiana are going to be weaker, the Cavs and Chicago are going to be stronger. Detroit might also improve. However, the Nets should be weaker. In short, there are not really a lot of teams moving up. This team should be a lot better than last year's squad. We will have better pg play, THJr should be better, we have a system that will help the team know what is doing in the 4th quarter, and no Felton or the uninterested Chandler on the team. I think 42 wins is a definite possibility, which should get us the 7-8 seed.

For me its not about the number of wins. It's about winning the Atlantic. That's really what the Knicks need to be most concerned with. Whatever number of wins they have it should be about winning their division. Really the team at the top last year was Toronto, but let's be real here. Toronto is far from a juggernaut!!! Are we conceding to Brooklyn as well???

Atlantic	W	L	PCT	GB	CONF	DIV	HOME	ROAD	L 10	STREAK
Toronto 48 34 0.585 0.0 32-20 11-5 26-15 22-19 7-3 L 1
Brooklyn 44 38 0.537 4.0 26-26 9-7 28-13 16-25 5-5 L 2
New York 37 45 0.451 11.0 26-26 10-6 19-22 18-23 7-3 W 4
Boston 25 57 0.305 23.0 21-31 5-11 16-25 9-32 2-8 L 2
Philadelphia 19 63 0.232 29.0 14-38 5-11 10-31 9-32 4-6 W 2

This team couldn't possibly play worse than they did to start last year. If this team is more competitive in general they will be on contention for this division. The Raps or Nets won't run away with this division. WIN THE ATLANTIC!!!

WILL ADVANCE TO PLAYOFFS

1- Cleveland
2- Bulls

I think should make playoffs

3- Washington
4- Toronto

5- HEAT *could be the 3rd ranked team* Miami I think they should make play offs *think they will come out with a CHIP on their shoulder without Lebron like Felton/Kidd/CA did without Lin, not saying they will win 54 games but

Wade/Bosh and Deng/McRoberts/Granger

3 PG's in Chalmers/Cole/Napier
James Ennis/Justin Hamilton/Chris Birdman

Where do these teams rank, with their additions/developments/injury recoveries?

6- Bobcats *don't know how we will defend*

Kemba
Lance
Jefferson

as others will now get open looks if we double...

*have shown their abilities to shoot/score, their entire careers*
=======================================================================
Gereld Henderson/Gary Neal could be role players that have thrived and got better like Kyle Korver has but with legit scoring threats as 4th/5th options

Have Shown potential
-------------------------
Vonleh, Cody Zeller, especially as BIGS,

and their entire roster will be expecting wide open looks and developing their shot this summer with Jordan and so...

Marvin Williams
MKG
Jeffrey Taylor
Brian Roberts

7- Atlanta *adding Horford improves their OFF and DEF greatly in addition to their additions and developments*

TEAMS IN NO ORDER FIGHTING FOR SPOTS, 8/9/10/11

Orlando *my dark horse, with Tobias Harris and Vucevic healthy in addition to Elfrid Payton/Aaron Gordon and additions of Frye/Ben Gordon in FA, with the development of SG Olindipo*

Pacers/Nets

Knicks

Detroit/Celtics/Bucks?????

Knicks only have to really worry about Toronto and maybe Brooklyn. If they can beat out the Raptors for the Atlantic Title they'll be in good position. I like what Toronto did last year, but they are not some juggernaut. I'd be more concerned if we had a perennial deep playoff team in our Division. Toronto could take another step up or they could fall back. Knicks need to take care of business and win the Atlantic. They should be able to beat them out for this Division.

Plus we have 20 back to backs, and 2 sets of 4 games in 5 nights.

Isn't this what I've been saying? The league is tougher overall?

Therefore our margin of improvement is near immobile

Reason being/////

The top half of the league didn't depreciate far enough than the lower half

Since the bottom half is significantly better there will be no easy gimmies

We all love to talk numbers, well let's look at our season last year

I'm posting the splits from last yr alongside splits for this season blank[no games played yet]

Fill in this yrs splits under last yrs splits based on the overly optimistic high 40-50win projections

/# = the amount games we play against opponent this yr

Shouldn't be too difficult to project if we can confidently say we're much improved

It should be clear as to who isn't, remember we were 37-45

We're literally going to have to sweep season series

In order to win 10-12 more games compared to last year

I don't see it with exception to maybe 1 team, that being Philly

All other season series will be a rearranging of chairs on deck of titanic

I have a couple more series not going in our favor in comparison to last year

While mostly everything else remains even

Most teams in the NBA are extremely close in terms of strength. Often the differences are very small between winning and losing. This team needs to be about getting to a high level of execution. That can mean the difference between winning and losing a lot of close games that we lost last year. This team lost games where they had double digit leads and against teams that weren't even winning teams. That underscores the fact that this team vastly underperformed. We don't start this year picking up from the .451 winning percentage we finished with last year. It's a clean slate and they get to show what level they will play at against the competition next year. This team has the ability to perform well above what they did last year.

I believe I predicted 39 wins last season. I'm going to predict 45 wins this season as I don't believe that Fisher will put the team on autopilot like Woodson did last season. Tyson and Felton gave us nothing last year, so I'm confident this team will do better.

The Knicks could win the division and start their first round matchup on the road. Boston a few years ago played the 5th seed Game 1 in Atlanta.

The wins dictate homecourt, seeding doesnt matter without the wins.

Yes but I don't expect that the Knicks would win the division with a horrible record. My point is that the Knicks 1st order of business is to be concerned with their own division. A division with basically only 2 other teams with a real chance to make the playoffs. We have to beat out Toronto and Brooklyn. I think this Knicks team has the potential to win the Atlantic.
