I know its a SL game against an 0-3 opponent, but I haven't seen a Knicks offense with this kind of movement for as long as I can remember, and I tend to think it is a fair example of what PhilFisher wants because most of the guys out there are fighting for a spot on our training camp roster.

Even seemed that most of our turnovers were by guys trying too hard to make a good pass, and not off of 1/1 situations where they had to pass off after being stymied by an opponent's good defense. Lots of movement, back doors, and most importantly, guys getting rewarded for getting free and moving without the ball.

Some stuff I saw/heard:

I think Larkin is the real thing. He is one of those little guys you hated to play in pickup games because they seemed to be everywhere. Finally showed some of his speed and confidence. Don't know if he will ever be a starter, but he should be able to play 15-20 mpg in the NBA as a spark plug. A disruptive defender and stronger than people think. He seems to be able to hit shots from all over and is strong going to the basket. Hope that Phil is as impressed as I was. Have to give this guy a full season as a Knick before considering a trade.

Galloway's scoring outburst in the 1st half may have gotten him a training camp ticket. Finally showed his jumper, which he is known for, but really showed good movement and quickness without the ball, something Phil pointed out while he was being interviewed. Phil also mentioned that he saw him play at Portsmith- not sure we ever asked him in for tryouts, so they might have invited him based on Portsmith.. Showed some finishes at the basket that surprised me. Seems to be able to compete as a defender- has those long arms. Still not sure about his ball handling, but he moves the ball around well, although he had no assists in 20 minutes. Wish he was a #2 pick- would have him play in Europe for a year. We just have too many guards at this point.

Hardaway played a better all around game, IMO, something he has to do. Still has to do a better job staying in front of his man.

Brown looked pretty good, and hit a few midrange shots. Dribbled a bit too much, but he seems to be getting into shape.

Tyler has some holes, but for a big guy he was a great jump shot. Might just win him a spot on the team, but he has to tighten up his game.

Wanted to see more jumpers from the Greek, fewer behind the back dribbles. Still think he is ticketed for Europe or the DL. Great defender, even though he is foul prone.

Our big guys were really helping out on the inside, and these are guys who are relatively unknown to me. They were also looking to make passes, and actually made a bunch of them.

Phil talked about getting good shots at one point, and how guys wouldn't have to use as much effort to get good shots off (think he meant jumpers) if the offense was working correctly. Might have had Melo and JR in mind.

Hope our starting team can play like this as far as ball movement and passing. Quite a change from Woodson's ISO stuff.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

I'm not sure why so many seem to think Tyler might not make the team. Dude is IMO gonna be one of our development kids this year. The talent is there and he's just turned 23 last month. It's players like him that can allow us to build a roster on the cheap. This SL is huge for him and the other Kid Knicks. They'll be already in the groove of the Triangle by Training camp.

He sucked in the first game and was a little better in game 2...

Game 3 he was amazing. I got the dvr going right now. These kids are running the triangle extremely well. Tyler has been making fantastic reads the whole game. So Tyler needed a few games to get his feel and he looks fantastic right now. Biggest reason the knicks dominated Charlotte.

Watching the game and listening to Phil. The guy is so impressive. Also, fisher and the coaches have done a great job with this summer league squad. They look very well coached. Galloway has had a great first half.

Just watching the Kid Knicks you can see why Phil has been successful. Fish and Rambis have been able to get thru to the kids very quickly. They seem to love playing in this system. The ball moves and everyone knows what they're expected to do. Young guys are probably the best to put in this system since they're so used to college style of play where they stick to the play more, rather than breaking the plays and going solo.

The Phil Jackson interview during the 2nd quarter was the best Knicks interview I have seen on MSG. Tons of interesting insight and anecdotes from Phil. Really, really feeling confident about Jax and his ability to turn around this franchise. I have to say, I never sweated him as much as the media did, but more and more I am really being convinced that he is the best basketball mind alive.

I agree. I also love his friendship with Clyde. Great interview. Cool stuff happens during summer league broadcasts.

Galloway is 6'2 with a 6'8 wingspan according to portsmouth. I am looking at his 3pt numbers in college, can someone check to see if I am reading those right.

F- 5.0 3pta/39%
So-5.7 3pta/47%
J-6.3 3pta/39%
Sr-7.2 3pta/45%

Those are his actually in game shooting numbers not a per 36 or per 40.
Seriously, stash Thannassis and sign Galloway to keep him in the triangle system(d-League). That shooting and length is intriguing.

Great game today, but he's a smaller version of Wayne ellington.

Sorry for the slight topic change, but Im watching the Cavs/Sixers SL game. Wiggins looks good, made the kind of move you might have seen from LeBron as a rookie. Noel is going to be scary in transition. A Noel/Embid front line could be something other eastern conference teams will have to think twice about when it comes to their roster. Bennett looks a lot more active and less nervous.
Jordan McCrae is playing well.

Doubt any of the Guards will find a spot outside of the guys already on board. Phil is really looking for bigs that can fit in. Tyler seems to have punched his ticket along with Cole.

Wow. Thanks for sharing that. He already is intriguing just by his play. Those measurements are intriguing for a point guard.

Based on tonight's game Tyler is on the 15 man roster. Bubble guys or guys to protect from the dleague draft and send to westchester are Galloway and Moore. Either of those guys could make the 15 man roster.
