I am okay with a college guy - NO TO HOLLINS and his old school ways of (not) thinking.

I guess it all comes down to the triangle. If he really wants to run it and really believes in it then he needs a triangle guy.

The problem is that with this team it won't be no damn triangle, it will be a SQUARE!

I sure hope he finds a way to get rid of felton (don't know how he could though). Would love to see if he can work with the super talents of JR.

Old school coaches got the bling, no?

What do you mean?

Hollins is an anti stats / analytics coach. Memphis brought in Hollinger, not good for Hollins.

Most organizations now including the knicks are concentrating much more on advanced metrics.

Old school coaches like Pop, Doc, Phil, Riley have rings...How many rings does Hollinger have??

i am curious: are you in favor of collecting talent regardless of fit and expect the coach to figure out how to make it work?

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

I don't think either of those guys are old style. They employ modern offenses and do not like low efficient players/shots.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

I would prefer Lionel Hollins old school style of coaching with a motion offense, he even knows how to deal with Young guys who don't get it .

All he needs is the backing of his front office, players need to know if you haven't accomplished anything i the association shut up and listen to someone who has.

If we don't go old school that accomplished something, why will the players be motivated to play the right way ???

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Starphuching is to make a hire expecting a similar result from a player or a coach and market the greatness. We paraded Melo with "coming home" (Mooby) and while he has performed very well, the winning has not be formulaic.

We have a long history of starphuchs with the knicks. They keep fans attention and it sells tickets.

Phil is huge starphuch. Thats not to say they don't work. Miami's "Heatles" have reluted in 3 straight trips to the finals.

For Phil to fulfil the Starphuch he must put his people in place. They might be names that don't invoke excitement because they have yet to succeed on a stage alone. What you hope is with support you bring in the coach's to run the system, and the player that will buy into it, or have games that are aligned to it.

Melo has the ability but as a "Star" has yet to show trust in his team, or willingness to give up the rock. Thats not to say he can't going forward.

A guy like Rambis MIGHT be such a guy who with the right support can deliver the leadership on the court. Because he failed in Minny does not mean he can't succeed moving forward.

Phil I take it will make big roster changes in the next two years. If we had a talented core and wanted a coach to suitable to the type of players rostered then perhaps thats one way to approach success.

My take is there is a plan. What it is we are not privy to.

Pretty much. Dude is already hating on the Phil hiring because of media speculation on who the head coach might be. He was giving Isiah the benefit of the doubt every second of the way while he burned the franchise to the ground.

Unreal

You last four post included two about me not directly speaking to me...That's unreal...Again, be a man!!!..And am I really hating on Phil hiring, If the nuances of posting and engaging in conversation escapes you, please exclude me as your topic of choice...

Lol @ you looking up my last 4 posts.

Not sure what the bolded be a man comment means. I am as manly as a lumberjack lol.

This isn't the "nuances of posting and engaging in conversation", it's your negativity about one of the few truly good things to happen to the franchise since our finals appearance in 1999. Dude is on the job about a week and you have a negative take on him because of who the media says he might hire.

I battled it out with you during those Isiah years while you were defending every move he made, every nail in our coffin was fine with you then. No negativity, no nuances of posting and engaging in conversation. You had your Isiah Pom poms out the whole time.

To see you with a negative take on Phil a week into his tenure is a joke with your track record.

I said my peace. I'll go back to ignoring your posts again.

Make it 3 out the last 5 posts, I'll save you the trouble of looking at my posting history again.

Look up your post history??..Comical...Obviously you forgot out last encounter...And did we discuss stuff in the past??...Ur rolling under many names??..Really, I don't care..Like last time, convo isn't interesting..

Now Tyronn Lue on the radar as coach???...great..
