I tend to think that McHale will end up regretting letting go of Lin. Yup, I understand he's a little overpaid. And, I also see that he's not the best backcourt mate for Harden. However, he's shown that he's a solid all-round PG, even if he's not quite right for McHale's various schemes. From what I've seen, he deserves to start but even given that he's not a perfect fit in Houston, I fail to see why they wouldn't want him on the bench. I'm not sure GS has the assets to pick him up but he would be a serious improvement over Douglas and Bazemore. He might fit on the SA bench. And so on. He's not a top PG but he's a good PG and on the right team, starting or bench, he should contribute.
As for Asik . . . I guess I hope for Asik's sake that he doesn't end up on the Knicks. He did seem to be coming along last year but his lack of an offensive game means he needs to be on a team with a front court that complements his skills. I can't see Woodson making good use of him.
