Woody has been exposed. He more than many coaches is a product of his roster. With good players and a player coach like Kidd he looked really good, but when things got tough in the playoffs and he started to assert his ideas more, which was more ISO, the team played worse. This year is even more of an exposure of Woody's actual coaching skills. He doesn't have any real Offensive scheme and his switching Defense makes everyone cringe. It only works half decently with Tyson in there.
People thought it was bad under MDA, but think about this, after this job do you think Woody would get a job like the LA Lakers after this? That's how bad things are for the Knicks. The guy we drove out of town basically, in order to have Woody take over, is in LA now. I could see no circumstances under which Woody would get a high profile job like that after this stint with the Knicks. Woody at his best is just not that amazing. To me that says a lot. People made too much of his record in the regular season, which may not have really been so much about him as it was the team just clicking and him along for the ride. I have to question that now after all we've seen this year and last playoffs.
