Your second one is how i felt last year....so nope, I'm not riding that wave this year. the 54 did nothing to enhance our playoff run.

The bigness and resentment towards this franchise, on a discussion dedicated to Knicks basketball... Not Knicks politics or behind the scenes drama... Knicks BASKETBALL... is astounding.

Of course, one affects the other but nee owner Bill Bradley and his 212 posse are not walking through that door anytime soon. The point being... It IS a new season and not even The Answer Man can foretell how it will play.

“I think Woody reminds me of Phil Jackson a little bit, with the exception Phil ran the triangle [offense]. As far as holding people accountable, figuring it out, Woody will put in a system on defense and offense and expects us to play together and be smart [like Phil].’’ - MWP

You can either watch expecting things to go wrong ... fearful of anything that goes bump in the night... spooked by ghosts of Charlie Ward, Rick Brunson and Cuttino Mobley... Or watch with an open mind.

You make the call.

What is this nonsense?

A few posters like Misterearl come here just to air all their complaining.

Complaining about complaining? The board has arrived....

You mean him complaining about the criticisms others have made?

Yeah, it just looks silly to do it.

What is silly is complaining about anyone who is not complaining about people who complain, but pointing out how silly it is to complain about something that hasn't happened yet.

Look you are up set because your half azz so call fans with your doom and gloom attitudes want people to be miserable like you. But that ain't happening. I will enjoy this season from begining to end. What about you and the twins? LOL I don't think so.

Yeah, I find it puzzling that you're a somber and not a real fan unless you have low expectations. It's like saying you don't love your kid if you expect him to get a high number of "A"s.

I suspect that you guys know the difference between "fan expectations" and "fan complaining" on a message board. In case you are unclear on this, here are some examples -

Destructive Complaint - the Knicks are never going to win as long as Dolan owns the team so why bother

Constructive Expectation - My hope is that Dolan alters his management style to hire/let his basketball people do their jobs in order for the Knicks to fuction more efficiently in the long term.

Destructive Complaint - Melo is a self-absorbed, egotistical ball hog who makes ever player around him less efficient and I have a higher dislike for the Knicks because he is on the team

Constructive Expectation - Melo needs to allow himself to be a decoy more often to get his teammates more involved in better positions to score

Destructive Complaint - 54 wins last season means squat and does not impress me

Constuctive Expectation - 54 wins last season and a division title was a step in the right direction, especially compared to performance over the past decade - however I expect to go deeper into the playoffs this year or I will be dissapointed.

Your first CE doesnt even makes sense.

Your second one is how i felt last year....so nope, I'm not riding that wave this year. the 54 did nothing to enhance our playoff run.

None of them make sense. It's just destructive complaining about the views of the Knicks fans with high expectations.

So essentially you think a post that offers suggestions for more optimistic expectations as alternatives to the personal attack style of complaint that has been prevalent on this board throughout the summer is a form of "destructive criticism". Very Interesting. I would think if people avoided personal degratory comments about Knick players, coaching and administration that it would foster more open and productive discussion instead of the he said/she said finger pointing that is currently going on.

The New York Knicks have 13 players in camp who did not start the season with the team last year.

That amount of turnover hints at new combinations, unique relationships and the standard unexpected drama that is the DNA of Knicks basketball, which is the main reason The Answer Man follows the roller coaster.

Pneumonia is no joke. Andrea Bargnani regains his wind by late November and hears it from the crowd. Chris Douglas-Roberts makes the most of his opportunity and meshes well with Tim Hardaway Jr. Jeremy Tyler heals by Christmas and steps into the rotation by January. Beno Uhrih will be a starter by February. Ron Artest turns the playoffs into his personal masterpiece.

None of them were here last season.

You heard it here first.

The issues with using this proverb......

A). You are making the assumption that the one doing the teaching or awakening is in the know....and does not have to be taught or awoken himself. Further, if someone was truly in the know, why would they be wasting their time on an anonymous message board? They could be using that knowledge in far more effective ways......for Instance, in Vegas. The answer is simple of course, that you guys don't really know for sure how the Knicks will fare.........but seem to have some type of superiority complex that you know more than everyone else.

B) you are making assumptions on how much the "one" who you feel needs to be taught or awoken "knows" given that your only exposure to that person is from a handful of posts on an anonymous message board.

C) you are revealing that your true intentions on this board are to continually educate or awaken people as to how bad you feel the Knicks are.....which at a minimum is a form of trolling. When you use the term mission of mercy......it comes across as something a serial killer would say.

Educating is trolling? I never knew all my teachers were such trolls!

That's understandable because all left wing socialist sombers are taught to believe anyone in academia is next to godliness.
