Back to the topic, I would be shocked if the Knicks could land Udrih. I'd love him on the roster, but 1) are there enough minutes at point to satisfy him? 2) Likely out of our price range. Keeping my fingers crossed though.

so every time someone uses the argument that " carmelo will draw other players here" lets keep your post in mind.. because that opinion is shared around here more than mine... so lets not talk ad nauseum...

So now in retrospect, was signing Prigioni at the time for a portion of the mini-ML instead of going after Udirih weeks ago when we had more money to spend a little bit of a mistake? I think so. Udirih > Prigioni.. Just sayin'.

Prigioni played very well. We couldn't let him go. Definitely getting Prigioni is better than a chance at getting Udirih. It sucks we've got so much money tied up on overpaid players and have such limited FA options though.

why are we still looking for PG's.. again, if we really needed that, why not use camby, novak and the picks traded to try and get one.. I wonder if Andre miller is Available, although he is up there in age, he would certainly have upgraded our backcourt instantly.. much more of a need than bargnani..

That is a reasonable question. We have four max/near max contract players, and we still aren't a very attractive option. If you spend your money on max contracts well, players will want to join your team.

If u replace Amare with a legitimate Max player like Chris Paul they would be here. The team is not quite good enough to be considered.

Sure, take the worst contract of any team and replace the guy with Chris Paul. That team will be much more attractive.

We signed him an offer sheet to the minimum like Copeland and Lin

As for Copeland, Pacer's would not even have offered him a contract unless it was higher than what we were capable of matching with

Prigs just turned 36 a few months back and played very well for the Knicks, and considering their cap status, they had to make him a priority. His vet min is like $800K, which is why they used the mini mle on him.

You also have to look at it from the downside: if Prigs left the Knicks, what other PG could they have signed to be #2 and #3 slots?

1 of these Vets would of jumped at being here. None of them wants to take no money and no playing time.

Why is it we are stuck with the only untradeable contract. People thought Arenas was once one of the worst contracts, but even he was moved.

I agree as I said needs

A fringe Starter/Back up PG - Not Filled

A Legit Sized SF or Stretch 4 that can guard 3's- Not Filled

A real sized Back up Center that could rebound - Not Filled

Doesnt even have to be as good as Chris Paul. A 2nd tier star maybe 3rd would be work liek Graingers level. Amare gives the team nothing.
On the Subject of Udrich yes it would be great but I doubt it will happen. if we had the back up job to offer it would be possible but we gave it away

There are players with longer contracts that I wouldn't trade Amare for

Beno

According to league sources, the Knicks have an outside chance of landing Udrih, 31, because they can only offer a veteran's minimum contract worth around $1.2 million for next season. Udrih, who went from Milwaukee to Orlando in a late-season deal, made around $7.4 million last season, the final season of a five-year contract worth $32.3 million that he received in 2008 from Sacramento.

How much money does he need at this point?

Orlando is just a big strip mall. Sacramento is just a place you stop on the way to the ski slopes from The Bay Area.

Come to New York and play on Broadway.

Ha...more opinion policing!

Seriously. It's a great forum but I could do without the opinion policing. Violations of forum etiquette should be policed but not opinions you disagree with.
There are opinions and there are responses that have the intent of being provocative. Maybe if you say something like the original post you could include a list of guys that have given up millions to play with a certain player on another team. Something to make it not appear that you are just talking junk.

There are polite ways to ask for more info. It's clear that the opinion policing rubbed several posters the wrong way here.
I would not call what TKF said remotely close to the kind of trolling that requires an intervention from the forum moderators.

Bonn you are the wrong person to comment about what TKF said or didn't say. Some guys run in the same pack. Look I can voice my displeasure and move on. There are others who can't and they stay negetive on every post. And sometimes I believe they really don't think that they are doing anything wrong because they've been doing it so long.

Udrih is a 31 year old proven vet. Mike Woodson will greet him with open arms. Do you think he talks to his Indiana homey Grunwald about acquisitions? Absolutely.

Pablo plays because he is more comfortable in his role and a year wiser.

Ray Felton plays because he is a warrior who knows he has to prove himself every day.

Any questions?
