I think his contract is reasonable and he wants to play here. I think we could of got him last year. If we are going to trade assets in sign and trades we should be doing it for 24 year olds.We are paying the same thing for a worthless Marcus Camby and Novak.I really dont get how the Knicks find themselves overpaying every single frickin time in trades/ contracts whatever it is. Why does every GM we have always take back the bad end of the deal. It cant be the GM's all suck it has to be Dolan pressuring them to do stupid trades. If we want to throw money around we should be tossing it at high ranking scouts and personal guys in the Spurs and Thunder organizations

Yeah, Mayo has opted out and I'd love for us to sign him. Truth be told, I wanted him over JR Smith last season although, I admit, I'd want for us to keep JR this time around. Luckily for us, Mayo's late season flameout with the Mavs might have both parties interested in making a permanent split. I also share your frustrations with Knick management, even though Grunwald (IMO) has been better than the average bear. He's had the fortune of having most of the heavy lifting done for him but I thought his deals for Lin, Novak, JR Smith, Kenyon Martin, Chris Copeland, Raymond Felton and Pablo Prigioni were pretty damn smooth considering the resources he had to work with. I hated the fact that we let Lin walk for nothing of value in return, re-signed Novak from the jump when we should've been looking to trade him (dude is the worst) and gave up Harrellson and Jordan for Camby, though I did and still do like the decision to add Camby. Compare that to the type of stupidity that transpired before his tenure though and his few screwups are not something to dwell on.

Vasquez would actually be a nice addition especially since woody likes to play two point guards. Vasquez is 6'6"....

Vasquez would be a great addition.

It has no chance of happening and we'd probably need to get a third team involved, but I'd trade Chandler (we can sign a cheap formidable replacement like O'Neal, Dalembert, Oden), Shumpert, Novak, Felton, picks.

I already mentioned the Hornets as being key. In addition to them, the Clippers might be the ticket we need to secure multiple picks, other than our own. With KG/Pierce out of the picture, I could definitely see them having interest in Tyson Chandler. Add in Iman and we'd have a shot at Eric Bledsoe, DeAndre Jordan, Reggie Bullocks and a future 1st rounder. We know that Orlando has a great deal of interest in Bledsoe as well, so we theoretically can get a draft pick for him and Aaron Affalo. Affalo, going to a contender, could be flipped for more picks and/or young players.

Raymond Felton, DeAndre Jordan, Reggie Bullocks, a LAC first round pick, an ORL first round pick , a first round pick for Affalo, Amare Stoudemire and cash for Rondo, Gerald Wallace, Courtney Lee and Kris Humphries/Jeff Green might have some legs. The problem becomes building a team using so many bad contracts, no draft picks and no money to add a decent big man. We "win" the trade but lose long term.

I dont want to be a downer but these trade ideas Im seeing are ludicrous. Would you do that deal if u are the Clippers? The Clippeers are trying to win a title not help the Knicks win 1.

Deandre Jordan,Reggige Bullock,Eric Bledsoe, 2014 1st round pick for Tyson and Shumpert

I dont think Shump has the value Knicks fans think he does. If Shump was really this good dont u think teams needing a guard in the mid lottery would of been calling about him

this is why I always ask fans to put themselves in the other teams shoes..

They might do a Bledsoe/Jordan Tyson/Shump swap

even then why would they make that move? if anything it is almost lateral move and jordan is younger than chandler by almost 10 years and bledsoe is a better player than shumpert is right now..

I wouldn't trade Wallace for Novak, Felton and Shump....

Anyway my initial idea had Portland involved and that makes the most sense for them since they would get Wesley Matthews, Meyers Leanard and CJ McCullum.

Any optimisim left in this group?

yes it is stupid enyspree because with the exception of shumpert who has some potential the rest of the guys suck... now I am not saying suck as in bums, but in relation to the value that rondo has, they suck...no one wants chandler, novak or felton they can get these guys anywhere in the league...

and on top of that we are in the same division. Boston would not trade him to us without fleecing the team, and in the end, it is not worth it..unless it was lebron maybe..

Do the point guard that Portland drafted sucks?

Isn't Brooklyn in the same division?

they won't have to face garnett and pierce for the next 6 years.. that is the difference.. even then, look what it took to land garnett and pierce.. we have nothing like that to offer for rondo... I don't care how many teams you drag in, someone is going to get dragged in a deal where chandler is making 14 million ..

Just playing around with the trade machine. I think Hardaway and a first rounder would have to be included but this works.

Also, contract lengths are from last year.

Rondo tore his ACL. Lets not forget he might most of the season until he hits his stride again.

I would still want him above anyone else on this roster.

And maybe Hardaway. That's what it would cost.

So what are we waiting for??

I would go insane if we got Teague. He's excellent at breaking down defenses even though he's not a pure pg.

It works in the technical sense that the contracts match and it can be made under the CBA. In the sense that Boston would ever in a million years agree to this it doesn't.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Or maybe you can grow a sense of humor? The stupid trade has no chance in hell of happening.
