Congrats @georgekarl22, good season and nice run in the playoffs…very entertaining.

Even rings more true on firing day!

Anyone sticking up for Karl sticks up for extended mediocrity (80-105 in the playoffs.)

The Don Nelson of his time!

I think you just described our current coach and superstar. I guess no one is going to stick up for them here.

Lol every other thread is "Melo sucks" or "Demote Woodson" thread.

Hey, just statin' facts brosef! Karl is a good regular season coach...nothing more, nothing less. Only time(singular) he made it to the NBA finals was on the back of Hall of Famer, Gary Payton. End of Scussin'!

Not really, just trying to figure out who actually reasons and evaluates with some logic and who posts nonsense. To reduce Karl to a 'career loser' is pretty stupid.

No titles = loser.

facts trump everything.

So in your eyes, Melo is a career loser. He might as well retire. Smart.

I'll judge him after 20+ years of losing.

I guess you'd categorize Ewing as a career loser too. Brilliant.

Karl, the great coach, who dragged CancerMoobyMelo to the WCF on the back of the likes of AI and Chauncey.

Karl, he with the more regular season wins than our suckhole, can't get it done in the playoffs, please fire him now, Coach Woody

He wasn't fired, he was mutually "oustered". Good for him and his attempted money grab! At least he's not a grubbing Starphucque like our Mooby!

Denver, the up and coming, ever-improving, properly built out of tremendous Knick "assets", potenshull-filled, out in the first round model,
Knicks, the rapidly decelerating, built for yesterday, Starphucqued, dysfunctionally decrepid, out in the second round model.

Wonder if Karl ends up in Toronto? Can't wait to see him turn Rudy Gay and Landry Fields into the next Gallo and Wilson.

BUT BUT...I thought you built dynasties in the mold of the young nuggets!

Youth and speed and ball movement and depth and...

WHAT!??!!

Both GM and Coach shown the door!!!

Well, there goes that theory...

How would it elevate carmelo? I'd love to hear the logic behind this one...

Karl was critical of some aspects of Melo's game. If Karl is discredited in any way it makes such things not as valid.

Winning 57 games (more than knicks) with a roster full of non star ex knicks makes Melo look bad to hater. The Moobyites must defend it.

My take is Karl wanted an extension and knuggs don't play that. He found out Clips "Would be" interested as is the Grizz. When you have a market, you have options and leverage. Karl made it a big deal forcing Denver to extend or release.

Well Denver has shown they have an interest in being cheap.

Role players, wont keep a good GM over money and let their coach go over money.

I'm sure he'll find another job, but that team will underachieve just like most of his others did.

57 wins for that team was not under achieving!

I think a coach can out last his welcome and its time to move on. It happens a lot in the NBA. Only two coaches have tenures over 5 years now.

Obviously he gets alot of regular season wins.

Your other point probably cements why he should be fired, all the other long tenure coaches have chamipionships while Karl has first round KO's.

What has Karl won? Nothing when it matters, he is at best a championship coach of the regular season.

That is pretty awful.

Not really. You're playing the best teams in the league. A .500 playoff record would mean you're well above average for an NBA team. The Knicks have gone 7-14 in the Melo-Amare-Chandler era in the playoffs. 80-105 is just slightly below Jeff Van Gundy's playoff winning percentage

He hasn't won any championships. Like a lot of people in this sport, but to evaluate that as being a 'career loser' is stupid.

I think the 57 wins is a great season and exceeded most expectations. I think few of his teams over 21 years were true contenders.

He had a two year window in Seattle. His milwaukee teams and Denver teams were not real contenders.

Riley had two years to get it done in NY and he did not. Pat did a great job here but no chips.

Look, its fun to love the Moobster and smack down Denver. Many teams would kill to have the playoff runs they had even if it did not yield a trip to the finals.

We are a franchise that over 67 years made the playoffs in 42 of them but did not 25 years, have two chips and a life time record of .500!

Im not smacking down Karl's 21 straight winning years until we do better! Much better! Im humbled enough by many losing seasons and failures to see this.

Karl has only had 4 positive playoff runs in over 20 + years of coaching.

JVG actual has a .500 record in the playoffs, and 2 or 3 positve runs in a much shorter time.

Dont see the comparison.

4 good runs in 20 years and 2 in 10 years are the same ratio.
