What would you trade Tyson for?
We need to get an all-star or several very good players in return
Need to at least get a starting calibre big man
Need to get a front-court or back-court starter
Need to at least get a decent bench player (a 7th or 8th man)
Just need a 2nd round pick

Regarding your other point, here is a list of players you could easily match salary wise with Tyson:

Yeah thats ridiculous I wouldnt trade him for 2nd round picks thats not worth it at all. He is better then that. I would want either 2 rotation players or a combination of A first round draft pick , expiring contract of a useful player , and a trade exemption

Wait I thought you said Tyson was a superstar all NBA C?

Well you thought wrong. I did say he was our best player in the first half of the season but we don't have any superstars. I'd trade him for a younger all-star like George or Hibbert and maybe for multiple good young players like Bledsoe and Jordan.

lets add in Durant and Lebron while you are at it, you are talking about unrealistic trades that will get laughed at if even mentioned
You want MAXIMIZE value and it just isn't going to happen

BTW, I would like maximize value as well, but I am a bit more realistic, and if I am playing GM I would start conversations just to feel is there interest in him from other leagues
I am not saying I would just look for 2 2nd round picks, obviously there must be discussions going on in draft night with a couple of different teams IF there is interest in him

And before they make their pick they would need to confirm with us, if they are picking for us
I am saying by the 2nd round, if NO ONE is willing to deal us 1st rounders and Portland is willing to trade a trade exception with 2 first round picks, I would do if if push comes to shove

If they were only giving 2 2nd round picks, they must also take Novak with him, if not I would need more assets with either draft rights back for Pap, and/or 3 2nd round picks *which could include future picks 2nd rounders in the next 2 years* If they still insist NO, I would say no deal then call them back up a few minutes before they start picking and initiate the conversation again, I would try to get as much as I could, and IF 2 2nd round picks is the most I could get, I would still do it *with picks 39,40 only*, not the 45th,

I prefer to get something done earlier in any case so I could do a 2nd deal because of the rumor of Dallas clearing cap space and willing to part with pick 13 for it

1- So, IF Portland would agree to to a trade similar to the one I proposed in the other thread,

2- I would call Dallas up right away *with the rumor of pick 13 and Marion for cap space*, and see if they have interest in parting the 13th pick with Marion and whoever else like Carter/Collison and Wright/Kaman *don't think Mayo is realistic but of course I would get him if I could* so they can save money and possibly target 2 maxish FA's

Yeah, I never said they were realistic. I don't think pick 13 and Marion/Collison etc. could help us next year as much as Tyson could.

I like some of the Centers in this draft. I wouldnt mind getting that combination of players if it also got us Dieng from Louisville.Although me being high on that particular player is what is enticing me more then the other pieces. I might even insist on Mayo or no deal. He is another player that ive always really liked

Ellis is the second scorer that Melo needs.

Monta reminds me of a hybrid Starks/Parker type player.

Monta Ellis would have to opt-in to his contract for next season. If he opts out he would have to be sign-and-traded to us which we can't do because we're too far over the cap.

No Monta Ellis not on this team. The Pacers could use a guy like him though for when they go in their horrid scoring slumps. U can't play Jr Smith, Monta Ellis and Melo together it would be a joke. Lets sign Nate Robinson to and play him at PG.. Nate,Ellis,JR ,and Melo. I like Melo but I know he has flaws u cant surround him with more inefficient scoring guards

I just dont like the idea of letting Smith go for nothing. We did the same thing with Lin. Just seems like a waste when u can get a pick back

I don't like the idea of losing players for nothing either but it's a move I'm willing to make to put Shumpert in the spot light. Think of it as addition by subtraction. Maybe there is a team out there willing to do a S&T for Smith. I highly doubt it though.

My thing with this team is we are basically backed into a corner. I know people dont like JR Smith but I feel he still has value. I would be willing to trade or dump anyone had we still had next years draft pick.I would even prefer to start moving guys out for draft picks so in 2015 FA we would have some young talent and cap space. With how the team is built and the lack of assets to me its pointless letting anyone go.I just wish we could get away with JR only getting a 2 year deal. I hated the Novak and Felton contracts last season I dislike that money is on are books past the end of the 2015 season. I honestly dont believe anyone would of given Novak or Felton 4 year deals

I don't think a pocket of lint is one of the choices. People need to stop disrespecting Chandler. It's not like he was Perkins bad.

Advanced stats-wise, Tyson Chandler's our most productive player (despite his underperformance in the playoffs).

Check out who else is ranked as high as him, and you'll see it'd be pretty much impossible to get equal value back.

Rose is not the answer.

Wins produced is just one advanced stat. Don't conflate "WP" with "advanced stats." Still, most do have him as our most productive regular season player. He was outstanding in the first half of the season and without him, we might have lost to the Pacers in the 1st round.

I like Tyson but he's a one dimensional player. He can rebound and block a shot but is useless on offense unless they run a pnr for him. IMHO for the Knicks to move forward they NEED to trade him but my feeling is that they won't.

Are offensive rebounds part of offense?

they just retired Bruce Bowen's number in San Antonio. All he did was shoot corner threes. Personally, I value what Chandler can do on defense more than what I discredit him for what he takes off the table on offense
