I said the same thing back then. We did all this to our roster, and we STILL the 4th maybe 5 th best team in the East behind, Heat, Pacers(obviously), Bulls, Celtics(with Rondo). I know I know, we won the division blah blah blah, but anybody who knows anything about Basketball knows the REAL season doesn't start until the playoffs, and I didn't see this team going far with this roster and I don't see us being able to do much to our together a roster that can win it all in the near future. The trade crippled our chances of putting together a roster that can compete for a championship for a few years. So I gotta settle for us being Regular Season bad asses from now on? I'm sorry, but after all the assets we gave away, that isn't good enough!

Name the assets. Again. And then show us what the assets would have gotten us in your fantasy league make believe trade world, as well as all the Anthony Davis' we would have signed through the draft, taking into account our glorious draft history since 1985. For the four billionth time.

If we waited genius, those assets could have landed us players like a CP3, Harden, Dwight Howard, just to name a few if we played our cards right. Granted it wouldn't have been a win now roster, but the future would've been a helluva lot brighter than it is now. He'll we don't have a win now roster anyway and hardly any upside. Instead of using what we had to get players like that, we end up with Melo, Kurt Thomas, Rasheed Wallace, and Marcus Camby, no money and no draft picks.....really???

Again, actually name the assets, oh brilliant enlightened one. Perhaps typing those names right next to names like CP3, Harden and Dwight Howard would make your realize you're not actually talking about playing cards right, you're actually talking about playing with yourself.

Yeah, we had been missing the playoffs for three seasons in a row and had a conglomeration of second tier players and a broken down Stat. blah blah blah But that was going to get us players like CP3, Harden, and DHoward. Blah blah blah.

We've now gone to the playoffs three straight years and made it to the second round, blah blah blah, but that means nothing blah blah blah. We have a DPOY, a scoring champion and the SMOTY blah blah blah But we should all whine and beeyatch and moan because it isn't good enough.

You won't actually type the names of the "assets" because you'll know you'll look like a genius, right?

Oh my god your right!!! We had no assets before the trade. In fact Melo was given to us for a box of Skittles and magic jelly beans. No way we could've use that to get the players I mentioned! What was I thinking????

Yup; it would have been impossible to construct a team that would go 7-14 in the next 3 post-seasons had we not made the Melo trade. Our situation was that dire!

Hi Orlando, this is Glen Grunwald, Dolan mindless minion, I have an up and coming fat PG, a great 2nd tier forward who's chronically injured, a great tweener SF/ 2 guard with experience with the Chinese league, and a Russian project center with no outstanding skills, along with the great Landry Fields, along with our miniature technical machine, Lil' Nathaniel. If we throw some low end first round picks in, would you mind giving us Dwight?

Oh and while I have you all on the phone, would you care to take on $100mil for an overused PF with knees of glass?

No, not impossible at all.

And since we can, let's review the outcomes now, shall we?

LA and Dwight? That worked out well, didn't it?
CP3 in LA? Out in the Semis, out in the first round. And that's with Blake and Deandre. I'm sure Amare and CP3 would have gotten us a chip by now.
Harden in Houston with Wonderboy? out in the first round. I'm sure Amare and Harden would have gotten us a chip by now.

It kind of really does?

So I guess stars are just not worth it unless you can have lebron. Rest of the three remaining franchise's are TEAMS with balance and depth.

Right, and all our unbalanced old win now team did in comparison to the teams with the three stars actually mentioned in the post was...

So are we now going to talk about how we could have played our Mooby cards the right way and gotten one of the following:
Lebron
Duncan
Not Pau
Hibbert

Yes indeedy, sense abounds!
