When I watched this I thought that was a nasty elbow he threw at Thabo. Yeah, he barely grazed him as shown by Sef's non-reaction. They are both being physical with each other in that clip. I don't have a problem with any of it. This league is WAY too soft nowadays. Did you watch the 90s Knicks and bad boy Pistons? They would laugh at JR's elbows. |

![]() It isn't surprising coming from this heavily biased and soft league. I in no way condone J.R. for what he did, although I understand his frustration with the referees not calling the many fouls Terry and Boston players were hitting him with. The one before the elbow incident was so ridiculously obvious, yet J.R. is the villain. Ok.
At least I expected the League to take all the factors into account, but why? THey have a chance at affecting and maybe extending the series if they simply take J.R. out so of course they will take advantage of this. But in no way should the Knicks lose tomorrow. They have the weapons necessary to win. This is a chance for Copeland and Novak to step up and help the scoring load. Win tomorrow! Knicks_Fan

![]() Felton will have to have yet another big game. Novak has GOT to be on tomorrow. Cope has got to shake off the jitters I saw in game 1. Melo's got to be consistent & efficient throughout. We have very little room for error offensively w/o JR. sigh.

![]() His history probably has something to do with the suspension. If Kidd or Pablo threw it, I think they'd be less likely to get a suspension.

![]() The suspension works in our favor. JR would have been a distraction and the opinion over the Terry flop would have been non stop. The Boston crowd would have used Smith as a focal point for taunts.
This way, the veteran Knicks have something else to prove. They will dedicate the game to their penalized colleague and put the Celtics out of their misery. Expect Kidd to drop a triple double. JR will go to Tufts College gym to shoot jumpers. You heard it here first. once a knick always a knick

![]() I think the ejection and flagrant 2 is understandable. But the suspension is questionable because the flopping by Terry. JR clearly fouled him but Terry clearly exaggerated the contact and should be fined $5k as per playoff flop rules. If were making examples of people early in the playoffs then be consistent. If Terry were legit falling as a result of the contact, his reflexes should have moved his body in a fashion that would counter the direction of the blow and his arms should move towards the origin of contact and then to brace his fall. http://www.nba.com/2012/news/10/29/nba-flopping-rules.ap/index.html What JR did was dumb but he walked away and didn't allow the situation to escalate. He also didn't argue w/ the refs because like others have said, he has a reputation and regardless of whether he helped Terry up or not it wouldn't have changed the end result. The best thing he could have done is walk away before there was any chance of a fight. I'm glad this happened now instead of later in a series or situation that would have actually mattered. At least he can learn from it and maybe he needed a reminder that he needs to keep his head level on the court. But screw it all. None of it matters. JUST WIN!!! That's the best retaliation I can think of and we are more than capable of getting it done. |

![]() Expected but unfair. This leaves us with no bench scoring- Cope has the playoff jitters & Novak can't be relied on. Going to make game 4 tough.

Earl, I am with you. I am pissed at this. I want the Knicks to win by 30 points in Game 4. I don't want to see Paul Pierce prancing around like a prima donna. I want to see him crying at the end of the game. The difference between fiction and reality? Fiction has to make sense.

![]() I think the intent of throwing elbows like that is the same as throwing a punch. If it lands or how it lands is not the sole reason for the flagrant 2 but the intent. The one he threw against okc was awful. He might have been warned after that. This is why he can't be trusted. I hate it as a fan and hope we can sweep and get our guys some rest. I don't care about showboat or anything the Celts are whining about. They are desperate and trying get back in the series so they will try to bait our "mentally soft" guys into doing something stupid. A technical can change a games momentum and a series. JT might have morally "deserved it" but thats what happens. JR lost it. Perhaps he is getting better at it because he recognized it right away. Kind of like when my dog is bad. Sometimes you just can't help things. Its "Nature"....... Kudo's to JR for trying but my take is the league has a problem with his elbow before and this was a bit of payback. Anyone know why the knicks are "victims"? |
