The ball is low down and he's going for the ball with his left arm. So the left shoulder is going to be lower than the right one. It doesn't look intentional to me.
That said, I'd be nervous if I were Beverly. I'm sure OKC doesn't see it the way I do.

Yes but my point is... He started his own motion after the whistle and was way overly aggresive going about it. Yes, I would be scared if I were him. He just cost OKC the championship. Not that I condone retaliation. It was still an accident.

My best friend tore his meniscus playing paintball (somehow) and continued to play after the initial injury. It wasn't until later when he couldn't either straighten or bend his leg. When he went to the dr, he learned that not only did he tear his meniscus, but also flipped it. It seems impossible given how little space there is in the knee... But it isn't.

Yeah, when I played intramural, I had occasional injuries that didn't affect me much until the next morning. Never a ligament tear though.

Sucks, not really a Westbrook fan. But I hate to see any player, with the possible exception of Rajon Rondo, have to go through this. Chris Paul was able to recover, but it took him sometime. Same with Jeremy Lin.

let's not forget Rondo played after tearing his ACL.

side note: Wade is getting treatment for his knee

That play looks bad. Too bad for Westbrook. I think OKC is ok for at least this series. I really like Reggie Jackson a lot. He may not be able to be as intense with more minutes but he is a very good player.

Ouch - This really sucks for OKC. Losing Westbrook's scoring and defense means they may still lose to the Rockets. even if they make it ou of Round 1, their run is over for this season.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

You never know, if Westbrook gets "to sexy for his cat" he might be able to come back early.

Was very similar the year after the 99lockout. Both the lockout season and the one that followed saw a rash of injuries.

I completely forgot about that but you're right

Selfishly speaking, I'd love to see a shorter season and esentially the removal of 'let down games'... you know the type fo games where guys just go through the motions because the game matters very little in mid December and they'd rather go out and party than prepare for the game. I'm guessing I'm in the minority on that one though. Hopefully big names stop dropping like flies in when the postseason hits next year

I agree that the season is too long. They could add another round to the playoffs instead. Get more TV viewers that way at least. The problem is would that be enough to make up for the loss of ticket sales?

The number of games is all tied to the BRI....

Rose is not the answer.

cant see how they could make it work. they would add more bad teams to the playoffs to add a new round or give teams a bye maybe... at some point the +50% teams making the playoffs needs to go.

You guys know what this means right?
It's on now for Durant.
I guess Melo & Durant are gonna have another battle for a scoring title (this time in the postseason).

I like Jackson a lot. His match up with Beverly should be good as both guys go all out all the time. Jackson made an impact whenever he went into the games I watched. Not sure that he can be as aggressive if he needs to play the entire game.

Forget the asterisk. If LeBron goes down, they'll probably cancel the playoffs.

I'm a huge fan of Westbrook's, so I'm really bummed by all of this. Before this, he'd never missed a game due to injury his entire career, going back to high school & college. Damn. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

I think he'll be just fine. He's a great athlete and great decision-maker. It will be interesting though.

OKC too good for the Rockets, especially motivated by the Westbrook injury.

Last thing OKC mgmt wanted was for Westbrook to go down, but they no doubt will be watching how the team does without him. If OKC goes deep in the playoffs, I wonder if they would trade him to build a team that's built more around Durant? Durant did tell the world that he wants to be the man. We'll see what lengths OKC will go to to make that happen.

I think Westbrook should sit out the whole of next season, just to make sure he's 100% when he gets back...
