What a way to end the half, and what a quiet, yet "complete" half by Melo.
15 points (5/10, 2/3 from 3), 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 0 turnovers, and he's +14.
Halfway towards #13 :)

I gotta admit i havent been a huge melo fan but he is playing like a mvp right now. he seems like he really wants a title and as a knick fan who has seen the 90's knicks get so close so many times im very happy

Nice half. I believe what we're seeing in this streak is the team turning a weakness into a strength. All those lineups Woodson was forced to throw out there because of injuries for the most part made it hard for the team to gel. Its at a point now where it doesn't matter what unit is on the floor, they know each other so well now that the ball moves almost effortlessly.

That will be put to the test with the better defensive teams in the playoffs. But this is a great sign.

Pass The Advil

Without anyone over 6'9 (no Steve Novak does not count) Woodyball is shrimpyball with an over-reliance on the three ball.

Oh well. Find a way.

melo is passing the ball much better lately. don't know where this dirkish aspect of his game was all season up until now but it is a good sign.
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Melo can adopt dirk's game so long as he doesn't grow dirk's disgusting beard. Dude looks like a hobo out there.

Not to sound like a homer but Melo has actually been passing fairly well all season long but people have to make them in order to get credit for assts. I think one of the perceived reasons for certain role players (yes im looking at you Novakaine) seemingly playing better when he's not on the floor is because they "expect" him to take & make every tough shot so when he passes it to them they freeze up. JR flourishes because he has ultimate confidence in his game (perhaps even when he shouldn't) & wants the ball all the time.

SHUUUUUUMP!
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

Felton is the man. Shump has the stroke. A few games ago he was shooting 39% from 3 over the last 67 games.

This is a beautiful symphony of team play

I Man Shumpert takes over for a solo on tenor sax. Pablo Prigioni leads the way like a masterful drummer. Reminds me of Elvin Jones. Understated when needed. Fierce on defense. The ball moves without effort.

Smooth

this, so much this.
Not only do people (namely Melo in this case) not get credit for "hockey assists", a lof of times those passes lead to fouls/foul shots.
For instance around half of Amare's points this season have come off of a feed from Melo
