Nobody sweeps the Celtics. Not the 69 or 73 Knicks. Those old men pushed the Heat to the limit last year. Or did you forget?

Nobody

I did say "imagine." Did you miss that?

Yes, realistically speaking, they're a savvy veteran squad.
However, they are beatable. These aren't the same Celtics we met in the playoffs two years ago nor is it the same discombobulated Knicks team.

Fire Mike Woodson. Yeah right

3months was more than a few weeks

The Knicks will win 50+ games. They will win their division. They will be second seed in East, most likely. It is an excellent season. You need to stop with this nonsense. 3 months does not make an entire season. Also, .500 over 3 months and above .500 for the rest of the season is not even cause for alarm. Get real.

Wow....Am I the only one that believed in this team? This was before we even played 1 game. Just based on the additions and age of the vets. I'm just kicking myself for not betting on them before the season started. Even if you bet a few bucks, you would come up big because vegas odds gave a slim to no chance of winning.

I still hate this lineup....I still think our small ball lineup will come back to bite us. The only thing I like about our lineup is Melo's advantage against bigger guys on offense. Everything else is a disadvantage.

Lack Defensive Rebounds
Increased Fatigue and tired legs
Increased Foul Trouble
More Defensive mismatches (Pablo)
Nobody to protect the paint (Due to Chandler's consistent switching on PG's)

Lets hope Woody can prove me wrong. I just hope he's not afraid to change it up against bigger teams.

WHY should we fear bigger teams? OKC is bigger. Memphis is bigger. Indiana is bigger. Yet we beat those teams. Our smaller lineup has been VERY effective against a lot of bigger teams. All we need is to get a bit healthier by the playoffs and we'll have enough size to deal with anything anyone can throw at us in the NBA. The Bulls are the only team in the league we never really solved. That's hardly a major indictment of this teams chances. Every year there's some team that has another team's number in the regular season.

IMO the Knicks mainly just need to worry about how they play and not so much who the competition is. It seems we cause as many problems for teams as they're likely to cause us, it not more. As long as we stick to the game plan. Ball and Player movement. Tough team defense.

I agree with you and briggs.....I just think we could be even better. But I guess now teams will have to adjust to us....instead of us adjusting to them.

Thank you....injuries was our biggest issue. Woody has this team playing very well. Our biggest off season move that made this happen was getting rid of the biggest cancer know to man.....danfoni. his next job should be overseas or college.

Just gotta take it 1 game at a time. Im very excited at the way we are playing. Reminds me of beginning of the year and last year when Woodson took over. The only thing that makes me nervous is injuries. We always seem to get decimated by injuries in the playoffs. Hopefully that wont happen ths time

This isn't an "I told you so" thread now is it? Its not about ruining the game, its about us not being RealGM. No fun in that.

As for the game being played on a court, I agree. Hope we can have a UK Bball get together around late summer. I know some posters are up for it.

We had one last year but only evil, rammy and me showed up. Im done any Sunday. This is the best time a year to ball. At least for the aging out of shape ones like myself

LOL, you and me both, but I still love to ball, even if my best days are behind me. I'm in Fla so the more advance notice you guys can give the better, like a month or so would be great. Might be easier to get more people to show up as well.

Same here....I'm in bmore....but I have no problems crossing up over the hill knick fans. And I just turned 40.

Truth.

1) We have been decimated by injuries all season. We are continuing the .600 balling. Have courage, will travel.
2) JR is the lone superman. You wind him up just the right way and he gives you a season like this. Buzzer beaters. High light dunks. He is a man exactly where he belongs.
Woody: "I seen something in this young man"
3) Melo smells his destiny like ... Honey Nut Cheerios in the morning. It smells like...victory.

Who moved the freakin goalpost?

We just won 50 games in a sample size of less than a full season. Can you dig it?

You are making it sound like you are the only one enjoying this great run. Why do you disappear when the going gets tough? Hopefully busy praying for a turn around. Your faith seems to have paid off and I commend you

I will be honest i disappear a lot when the going gets tough because when we lose a couple games this board is floaded with trade Melo threads and blow it up threads. It is very tough to deal with when you know its just overreaction. But there is no convincing otherwise. We lose 3 in a row and we are doomed with a terrible team and no flexibility. Look back a few pages, its pathetic considering where we are right now.

It's why I find this place boring when the team has a winning streak. No one wants to celebrate - they just want to say "I told you so"

The run? No. The board? Probably. You see how ridiculous it is when the team has a regular season winning streak.

Very telling.

As opposed to the I told you so excitement of "blow it up now" "why we lost the trade" "Denver is built for 2025 basketball" "Woodson, you remind me of the of smell of low tide in Atlanta" every time we have a three game losing streak.

"blow it up" is at least suggesting a future path. It's an attempt to be productive. You disagree with the path but it's Knicks related, not personal. It's not just "Look how stupid you, Guns, Bonn, DK...were for thinking X Y or Z."

And like I said in the other thread I acknowledged at the time that Melo and Tyson are our only valuable pieces. Amare has close to no value. The way it was looking we were not going very far with one scoring option once Amare went down. Adding Kmart and others like Cope shump kidd and felton has changed that. This team can now give Miami a run for their money. Kmart allows them to execute woodys defensive system because he is quicker then tyson and can guard multiple positions including Lebron and opposing pgs at times on switches

It's why I find this place boring when the team has a winning streak. No one wants to celebrate - they just want to say "I told you so"

Man...I've been celebrating for a while....even after some of our loses, because I know we could've won those games. But this board is just a reflection of our losing culture. It takes time to change. With these positive threads like, "Now I believe the knicks have a chance to win it all" may be the start of this cultural change within this board.

I've always been hard on all knick fans (especially on this board) because everybody just seemed so bitter and ready to jump to the Nets or other teams, whenever we lose 2-3 games str8.... Or some even said, keep Lin or I'm leaving. I just laughed....only real knick fans can stick around for a decade, and not waver on every emotional rollercoaster.

I wish I was the type to pinpoint all those negative fans out.....I would love to hear what they are saying now. It would probably be something like, I love this run, but I'm still not a believer. Based on history, thats true. A typical knick team will win 12 str8 and get blown out by the Wizzards tomorrow. But this is a veteran team with Melo and other in their prime. Everybody has the same goal.

Well, since we went into win now mode during the off season. Got rid of Lin, and added Felton and Kidd, along with Camby, I knew this was going to be the best knick team since the 90's. Health and Woodson was my only concern, and it still is. Not sure if Woodson will be flexible enough during the playoffs with his lineups and matchup problems. But I hope he continues to prove me wrong.

Woodson is great, but anybody compared to Danfoni will look great. I like how we finally got a coach the players respect and listen to. Thats the key to all sports, regardless if the coach is good or not. Gotta have that respect.

Smith playing great off the bench (eventhough he wants to start)....Melo playing out of position (guarding big PF's / Centers and the leading scorer in the NBA)....Amari willing to come off the bench (making 100mil). Kidd being yanked in and out of the rotation (Knowing he would've liked to start). Shump playing out of position. Pablo starting off the season as the 3rd string PG. Only a coach that demands respect from players can make these changes without causing internal controversy.

Paging JR Smith, Mr. Earl Smith! Your table at Scoring Option Number 2 is calling.

By the way, Mr. Prigs, how's that back feeling? Have you missed many games this season, I forget...
