Felton would be incredible alongside someone like Kobe who can run an offense. I wouldn' be shocked if the Lakers did him a solid in the off season and sent him to a contender and started their rebuild around Howard. We definitely have the 3 point shooting they would want in return and the salaries to make it work.

A starting 5 with Felton/Kobe/Melo/Chandler could go head to head with miami any day of the week.

There isn't a contender that can absorb his huge contract without giving up someone great which would take them out of contention. Imo

A package built around Amare would get you most of the way there enough room to include role players like JR, Novak, Copeland. All thes guys fit with MDA's 'system'

The way they have played all season long I would not count this team out to win it all this year. I dont give a damn about any other player on any other team. I don't give a damn about whiny Chris Paul and I don't care that Lin was talking about racial barriers on 60 minutes. All I care about is this team. I know a title contender when I see one and I know a legit point guard when I see them too. This year we have both! Shut up and enjoy the ride.

Funny thing is, anytime Ray plays well, you hear "he has exceeded limitations by having Prig or Kidd next to him...Not because he is healthy again..Prigs 19 mins and 13 mins a few games before was instrument to Felton's stellar 40 min and 36 min effort ...

We can give up Amare and Tyson for Kobe and Pau. Then they can flip Tyson for something useful.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

You know something, those flotation devices were even more spectacular because of their particular placement in the stratosphere. Impossible to block, they were.

Again with this? Earlier in the season, Felton said in one interview after another how Kidd was helping him with his game. MSG crew were saying that it shows how dedicated Raymond is to be still willing to learn at this stage in his career, but you see some veiled insult. When was the last time anyone said that anyway?

I honestly don't know what Felton's numbers are and I don't care. Felton is having his best season ever IMO. I have never seen him take better care of the ball, never seen him drive as effectively, especially as of late. He doesn't jack up shots like he used to. Like he has for pretty much his entire career.

Why would anyone be surprised or offended in repeating what Felton himself has said repeatedly, that a future HOF PG gave him some pointers now and then and it was helping him? The results speak for themselves. It doesn't negate what Felton has done, to the contrary. It shows how dedicated Felton is to leave no stone unturned to help the squad.

If you honestly believe that's the same thing as saying that Felton had very little or nothing to do with his own success this season then we're just going to have to agree to disagree.

Most players in the NBA gets where they are going on their own merit..Why can't Felton...Why does Prig's have to teach him or Kidd for that matter???..Felton singing praises about Kidd is just a matter of courtesy..If the media ask you how Kidd has help??..You have zero choice but to say he has been great helping me with my game or be deemed a malcontent...When asked by the media, Melo was singing Kidd praises as well on how he helped his game earlier in the season...Do you believe Melo as well???..Maybe Kidd did help both but who cares, not the point..Point is really, Why must Felton be judge by the standards that he needs help to succeed and no one else??

And u are wrong about his career FG attempts...He has always taken about 11-13 shots per game which is about his average now...He also played great ball in his first stint here...Earlier in the season, his FG attempts were an aberration due to all the injuries...No doubt he was asked to be more aggressive to help the team..

My point isn't one of being offended in any way by having a player can help your game, but instead, why are Felton's successes, always explained away by another PG coming to his aid, always ??..Who helped him during his first stint in NY??....And why would you take offense to me saying Felton is his own man who stands on his own two feet..He doesn't need Prigs or Kidd to prop him up...Why does that offend you ??

I get what you're saying. You believe that Felton is being singled out. That Felton wasn't the only one Kidd spoke to. My answer would be that Melo isn't a PG. As far as Felton's shot attempts, its about his shot selection, more than the amount of shots he's taken. Felton has a rep, not one that I created, for being careless with the ball at times, sometimes to the detriment of the team. For trying to get into one on one battles with elite PGs and not thinking about the game plan. Felton still does that from time to time but not as much this season.

Its not about another PG coming to his aid, its about Felton understanding that he isn't a finished product.

You can go back (not that its important) and look at all the times I said to the effect that Kidd was going to raise the collective IQ of this team when he was signed. He was brought in to mentor Lin and instead he mentored another PG, Felton.

Hate to break it to you Holfresh, but pretty much everything that's said on this board is pure speculation. To me praising Felton for being willing to learn from a HOF PG is no different than praising Stat for being willing to learn from a HOF center in Hakeem. I don't recall anyone saying not to mention that fact because its really a veiled insult to Amar'e.

All PGs have their slumps, including Kidd. It doesn't cancel out his advice or the fact that he's one of the 5 best PGs to ever play the game. I mentioned earlier in the season that I believed that Kidd wasn't being more vocal because of his slump. Against OKC, Kidd came in twice to settle the team down and start a rally which helped win the game. He knows when to lead by being more vocal and when to just play.

I've been saying good things about Felton for the a while now without any mention of Kidd but you're still fixated on the comments that were made at the start of the season. Kidd is not a Jedi Master but he's the smartest PG that Felton will ever play with.

All this stuff about Kidd helping Felton is pure speculation...No one knows for sure what was done and what was absorbed...But it doesn't give anyone pause at all about running with it and making outlandish declarations that is self manufactured..The most likely outcome is that Felton has matured a little on his own..But no one will grant him that benefit of a doubt...I have seen him play at this level without Kidd or Prigs the first go around here...How come Kidd don't give himself some advise and play the way he did earlier in the season...It's not all age...There was a point in time this season Kidd was afraid to shoot the ball...He isn't Obi Juan Kanobi that everyone is trying to make him out to be...

I discussing things that are being said right now...It's not Kidd now, it's Prigs helping Felton thru his "limitations"..U seem to have miss a few discussions...No biggie bro..It's not an insult at all..Dude just can't improve on his own I guess...

If you're referring to people saying that Felton was a beneficiary of Prigs being made starting PG and Felton being moved over to SG, they would be right. Even if they didn't use the best choice of words. Look at what's happened since then.

And looks what happen since he has been healthy ...Prigs has been playing 13/19 minutes a game...4th qt against OKC, Felton was awesome while Prig was warming the bench..

You can't have it both ways...At the beginning of the season, Felton did a great job running the point and it was because Kidd was the starting SG ...Now it's Felton is good playing SG because Prigs took away the pressure of running the point...The only constant is that when healthy, Felton plays well no matter what role he is in or who is next to him...Can the man get some singular love?.?..He has earned it!!!

Saying that Prigs starting games has helped Felton isn't the same thing as saying that Felton is incapable of having good stretches without him. The entire team has benefited from Prigs starting. The only reason some may point out that its helping Felton is because he was the one moved from PG at the start to SG.

We are a PG away
