Why have i seen on numerous occasions ray telling them when to move and where to go? It just baffles me the hate the guy gets for playing hard here under the bright lights. Avg 15 and 6 on a team with melo and jr is an accomplishment in itself. Both of these guys want to bring the pill up the court at all times, not to mention he plays with 2 other pgs. That is all. Keep up the good work ray and stay aggressive!
I dont think Ray Felton is the best PG--but I like him in the new position where he plays a combo 2 G. He tends to shoot too much as a primary PG but would be better suited for the role Jason Kidd was playing at the beginning kind of like a 1-2 but he can take those shots as he can make them. That helps spread the floor.
On the offensive end....I agree. But as far as defense....its a major mismatch for felton against most shooting guards. That's why I prefer shump because of his defense. This is also why I like two way players that are solid on both ends...something shump can be when healthy.
Im talking this year this team--not long term. Well need to address guard depth and upgrades in the offseason. As for now--I do believe that while Felton and Prigioni is a smallish backcourt--I think starting the game it might be our best. Shumpert already starts and with Felton at the 2G playing essentially a 3 guard line up--I think it gives both Carmelo and either Kenyon or Tyson much more room. Im not worried about our D--weve settled down there--where our BIG problem was on our downswimg was offense--numbers dont lie. The next two games will tell us more--if we are indeed on an upswing--although not having garnett kind of swags it .
