Any positive talk here is out of place. Some of the comments in these posts are just disturbing. You make a positive comment and people respond "can I have what you are smoking." This isn't right. The injuries add insult to injury but this board is crazy. I know people post here to vent but the "no hope" speech is getting old. Hopefully we can get healthy and get some rhythm going before the playoffs. I consider myself a level headed Knicks fan and will not forfeit to the overwhelming negativity that is the majority here.

I completely agree. It's gotten real bad on this forum. I agree that people would rather the Knicks lose with Melo just to say I told you so.

Then why stay? I don't want you to leave but I just never understood it when people started threads complaining about the forum. There are so many different forums out there you could choose from. It's like a millionaire who complains about how bad his car is rather than just buying a new one.

This forum has been great for 12 years. It's the so-called fans who drive it down trying to prove Melo is a grabage player and we were a better team with Gallo etc. It's the ones who try to prove a point every time. Not the real fans. We have a lot of Nuggets fans on this board, we will put it that way. General negative talk is fine and needs to be there. But there is a major divide here with true fans and Melo-hating fans.

I respectfully challenge you to find any post where the so called haters, including and especially myself are trying to prove melo is garbage... where we or I said he was garbage.. or that maybe, he isn't the guy you make this kind of trade for and build around? If you are honest, you will just admit that some of us hated the trade because we didn't feel carmelo was that kind of player at all....and on top of that has shown a history of being a selfish player... that doesn't make him garbage, just not the right kind of guy to disrupt what walsh was doing here.. why make such a post in which you know deep down is just not true?

and BTW, I am one of those who has been here 12 years....

I guess when you post stuff like....

No Finals appearances

Only 1 WCF appearance in 10yrs, otherwise perpetual 1st round exits

No Scoring Titles

No All-NBA 1st Teams Offense or Defense

No Regular Season MVPs

No All-Star MVPs

Missing All-Star Badges

No DPOY Awards

Not A Top 5 or 10 Player

Not A Very Efficient Player

Not A 2-Way Player

Volume Scorer With Bad Shot Selection

Not A Committed Defender

A Meddler Of Player Contracts

Financially Greedy

Loses Cool Easily Waits By Buses

Bad Body Language

Laughs During Blowout Losses

Style Of Play Is Archaic

Talks Tough Street Talk

Acts Unprofessional In the Olympics

Thinks More of Himself Than Necessary

Has More Than 12 Apostles

Has More Than a Myriad Of Lobbyyists

Wishy Washy About Injuries

Quits On Coaches

Argues Calls In Games While Not Getting Back On D

You're a HATER

As of now my hands and fingers hurt but I'll continue with another 20-30 accurate observations

Wow, what a list! I try to support some of what Melo is and does, but I can't argue with you.
Look, it is clear Melo needs talent around him to succeed and we don't have a #2 scorer since Lin left. We are between a rock and a hard place.

Exactly and most people complain about the cap situation not melo but everydne gets lumped into being a melo hater. If Amare wasnt on this team wed be able to add two borderline allstars. Trading melo doesnt mean you hate him. Its only a matter of trading one of our few real assets for multiple pieces since Amare is untradeable

I never said I hated Melo, or that he was garbage,I just hated the trade! Like I said before, if your name isn't Kobe or LeBron, you do not make that trade! What we gave up for him was way too much. Know we're stuck with no flexibility, and the AARP Squad! Phil Jackson was right!

I agree- I don't mind despair or criticism or people not liking players, but I get irritated when people start gloating about it (I'm a sore loser!) and constant negativity even when we were winning (oh the wins don't count, only losses do, etc etc), it's like taking your new car out on a road trip with a front seat passenger who complains about everything to do with the car and your driving the whole trip- robs the enjoyment out of the experience.

I can get being mad at negativity when things are looking great because it seems like people just want to find any small negative aspect and make a big deal of it.

But when things are going like they have for the last weeks, what is the problem with saying things are bad? If you want to play brave and honorable possitive fan, good for you. But other people see the kounting injuries, lack of interest in defense, inconsistent offense and questionable coaching decisions and they highlight them. Is that a crime?

I love it when things are great and all, but that's just not the way things are and if some here can't express their frustrations over this team because they still have abrespectable record even if losses are mounting along with injuries, then what is the point of a forum? I thought it was about expressing your individual self as long as you respected others' opinions.

Why can't someone be an "Ultimateknick" and not like Melo?

I did not like him as a nugget. His previous reputation as a smug punk and as one who had a fight in MSG to which he looked bad did not sit well with me. Its not like I dispected his talent. I give him a chance and I think he has done a very good job as a knick espcially in stretches! He seems to have matured a bit and I like him. I don't worship him but I like him.

Spree came in with a bad reputation having lost his contract for the chocking incident. I was thought the incident was awful but agree it was a private matter and should not have lost his contract and suspended for as long as he did. I respected his talent and liked him as a knick, but not love him. The off season drama of him being late to camp seemingly every preseason was not cool with me.

Neither is my favorite knick.

Bernard King came in with a reputation of being aloof and detached from his previous two teams. In NY be was very differnet as he became INTENSE and was amazing. His knicks made a nice playoff run and had some veyr nice KNick moments as teh leader of the team. He was loved for it.

I don't know why the divide on the board but as a "somber" or "centrist" as I been called I kind of enjoy the discussions and the team but really don't get that bent out of shape. I lay back and moderate my particiapation to NOT be in every conversation. Many are redundant.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Its a fair point.

The car should speak for itself......as the knicks play should theirs.

Problem is when its good you have some that think it will last forever and when it does not call for new coach or trades.

I don't do trade threads, new coach's or game threads. No Lin threads, pro melo threads or Anti Melo threads.

I will set up a game thread from time to time. But not chat during a game.

Not attacking you here at all, but I genuinely don't get the perception that Melo is loved on these boards. I was against the trade and couldn't stand the act he pulled last season, but he did turn things around and get us into the playoffs. This season he was great at the start and has kind of worsened. But attitude wise he's been okay and for the most part he's won us more games than lost. I end up coming across as being more pro Melo than I am because i think he gets unfairly criticised sometimes, and when that happens I'll defend him.

bonn, I like most of the people on this forum. I hang out with them in real life. why don't you leave?

Why would I leave when I just said I like it here? Your question doesn't make sense.

I agree, some act as if the neighbors wife who 8-10 yrs younger than his own wife is better to give compliments too. Get a divorce, your wife gave you children and takes care of them, but you yearn for something younger that doesn't have a guarantee to handle pressure when it arises.

Go and root for the rockets and nuggets you can show those fans how much you love those teams.

Not needed here nuff said !

why can't your neighbors wife look attractive, yet you still love your wife and kids? the great thing about sports and being a fan, it is like being in an African country where you can have many wives.. one wife may be a great cook, the other a great person to converse with, yet they all serve a purpose.. but you have that main wife, the one that lives in your house.. and when she is showing you that she doesn't have your best interest at heart then maybe you need to go visit your other wives for a minute, until your main wife can get it together....

So yes, I go to the nuggets board, the rockets board, the warriors board, I watch the nets sometimes, the Hawks, doesn't mean I hate the knicks, or need a divorce..... I am a NBA fan, but over the past few years, I have realized that this team, doesn't seem to care much about me" the fan" as I do about it. So now I diversify my time, and money...It is my right to do so, and doesn't make me any less of a fan.. if anything It has made me more objective when it comes to evaluating this team..

This is not Africa or Utah, it's called polygamy. You try giving you neighbors wife compliments in front of him , you might just get your dress shirt wrinkled.

I think they would love to hear you talk about and say how great the Rockets and Nuggets teams are on their site, go for it bro. Watching teams as a fan is great but talking about them in a knicks thread outside of the one designated for other NBA games and teams is just trolling, cmon man , you're better than that .

If you secure with who you are, and your wife is true, its not a threat.

I said for a long time its not about other teams, its about the knicks taking care of their own business! why you threatened by Rockets and Denver talk? You afraid they may be better?

They will only be happy when we become a lottery team again. My advice to you is to just enjoy the season and let them waddle in their missery. I see how this forum is turning and you can't stop it so if it's not put under control it will be totally in their hands and a lot of good Knicks fans will be disappointed. I am so fed up.

I see how this forum is turning and you can't stop it so if it's not put under control it will be totally in their hands and a lot of good Knicks fans will be disappointed. I am so fed up.

Stop complaining and get in the game thread Papabear!

I consider myself a level headed Knicks fan and will not forfeit to the overwhelming negativity that is the majority here.

since dolan has taken over he has driven the knicks into irrelevance. stern gave the knicks fans a break when he interceded on our behalf and forced dolan to bring in a competent man to clean up dolan and thomas's mess. we all waited for two entire years as we saw, for the first time in memory, the team being torn down so that it had a genuine shot at being built from the ground up and the right way.

after those two seasons, we the fans had every right to expect that money would be spent on a franchise player, or if not an outright franchise player, at least a big name. that turned out to be stoudemire. lebron led everyone on and we had to act and walsh did. to not acquire a big name would have been impossible. it would have been brave but it was simply untenable.

the knicks were headed for the playoffs in 2010-2011. at 28-26 they also had a ton of money and they had the nuggets over a barrel. they could have gone 9-19 the rest of the season and they still would have made the playoffs and yes would also have been eliminated in the playoffs.

but they would have had room to build and grow based on who was there-- amare stoudemire. they could have gone another season with felton and then allow his contract to expire while shopping for an upgrade at point guard.

then this season we would still be growing, while remaining a younger team. there would be no pressure or expectation to win now. instaed of youth and energy the knicks are the all-viagra team.

you can't go from roster flush to win-now in the nba without collusion. but the blithe dolan doesn't care about that-- and neither does melo. this comment he made befored the game last night of two to three years of getting his feet wet is total bs. what a crock. shameless!

the knicks are spiraling into irrelevance again. no offense but this was a fool's gold team as of february 2011.

you're upset but make sure you direct your upset in the right direction.

I can say the same thing to you why don't you leave. Maybe at the end of the season you just might see people leave just because it is they will have had enough. You see if all haters took over any forum they will only troll other forums to skew their hate. Because it's about the debat hate. And without no one to debate. They would go crazy.

The negativity is justified when you look at the Knicks the last 13 years.
