You can't win a championship with _______________ as your best player.
Can we as a board just agree that judging a player by his team's record or playoff success without considering other factors is a bit flimsy logically?
If you're going to criticize David Lee it might be easier to target the fact that he's not a good defender, lacks shot blocking ability, etc.
Vague references to "winning ways" aren't as useful as specific observations like:
"sulks when he doesn't get the ball"
"fails to box out"
"doesn't get back on defense because he's complaining to the official"
or some hard data
I think it was done because if melo was in the identical situation melo would receive this type of criticism.
Yeah I remember. This is exactly the line of "reasoning" that was used by some folks to criticize Melo and I said the same thing to those people too.
In my humble POV it doesn't really make sense to criticize Melo because of what the Nuggets as a team could or couldn't do. To me that's what old school reporters and guys who currently write for the NY Post, Daily News etc do. Traditionally newspaper reporters back in the day couldn't watch every game, access video, access stats etc.
Now people can. It adds more to my understanding and enjoyment of the game when posters on UK, bloggers, reporters etc. go out and do some research.
SHOW me a dude being a poor defender.
Look at his #s and say something like "Even though he has been a career 33% shooter the number of 3 pointers he's taken has increased" to illustrate a players lack of improvement to his game/poor shot selection
u feel me?
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please
